Alright, this is my first serious price suggestion for an unusual. Please criticize me as necessary. I just got interested in this hat recently and I'm trying to find out how much it's worth. I've been searching like crazy through outpost to see the owners and what they've traded for this hat.

High Sale

Traded for Disco Beat Hat of Cards (6.5 buds. Outdated Price by a few months): http://www.tf2outpost.com/item/440,2023897835 and http://www.tf2outpost.com/item/440,2133366596 (RyuVirus & LamboNando)

Normal/Good Sales

Traded for 4 buds + a bills: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/16198719

Traded for collector gunslinger and summer hat (around 4 buds, if gunslinger is 22-25 keys No official Price for gunslinger): http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/15627833

Miami Lights Flamenco (a bit over 7 buds then, currently about 6.5) for Searing Plasma Flamenco (3.3 buds. Outdated Price by a year) & the Hallmark (So about 3.5 to 4 buds): http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/15513676

The first owner (BRO SkyFloX) traded it + some sweets (it seems) for a Orbiting Fire Modest Pile of Hat (3 buds. Outdated Price by a few months): http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/15158159

Quicksell Price

Lucky trade for Toasty, got it for DP Salty Dog + 10 keys (2 buds + 10 keys): http://www.tf2outpost.com/item/440,2270779294 & http://www.tf2outpost.com/item/440,2264050829 (Toasty with Katchup) & Toasty told me himself he paid the DP Salty Dog + 10 keys

By the way, the reason the high is a bit over 4 buds is because it seems this hat has the potential to sell higher, but not much higher than 4. It also seems it's in a fair-price range still.

Like I said before, criticize me. This is the first time I've put time into researching sales for a hat, and I don't know if this is accurate enough or not. If you find more proof, either agreeing or contradicting, please write it below. Thanks!

Disco Beatdown Hat of Cards price is outdated and not valid proof.

Same with the Searing Plasma Flamenco and the Orbiting Fire Modest

Thanks. I should have probably incorporated the current worth of the Hat of Cards (updated a few days ago) (Was thinking of different hat). But I was using the previous price to see what the current price then. I'll update it showing the newest price and what the prices are now.

Edit: I must've looked at the wrong hat. I remember somewhere the hat of cards was recently updated, but maybe it was a different effect. Was the Disco Flamenco, not the Hat of Cards.

Edit Again: I confused the hats again, ignore this comment, I will update the section with current prices, and leave a notice where it's outdated.

The only really outdated price is the Searing Flamenco, which hasn't been updated for almost a year

The DBD Hat of Cards (~5.9) and O.Fire Modest (~2.9) aren't outdated at all. The Hat of Cards is 4 months old and the Modest is 3.

polar bear says that unusuals that haven't been priced 5+ months ago are the real outdated prices.

Just worried that you're telling a new suggester something that isn't true.

Thanks for that. I expected there to be multiple people against and for the prices currently up, and what I'm suggesting. I'll make a notification saying "Outdated According for a few months"

It really shouldn't be outdated according to anyone. I'll ask Brad about that

That is no longer true. We are pretty firm by the new guidelines. >3 months is too old: http://forums.backpack.tf/index.php?/topic/6033-new-unusual-price-suggestion-guide-the-cheat-sheet-full-guide-soon-to-follow/

Well, that's useful. Will this mean my trade would be unaccepted because of the outdated prices? Will it just be less likely to be accepted? You did say in the forum that they aren't completely invalid. But l'm still not sure.

They cannot be used entirely to set your range. For example, if you have valid sales at 1.8, 2, 2.2 and a sale with an outdated hat or a sale 3 months ago at 2, it gives you more confidence that your suggested range is accurate. Similarly if valid sales are at 1.8, 3. 3.5, 5 and an outdated hat / sale at 3 and 3.3, you can be confident that the range of 3-3.5 is accurate.

But using only outdated proof is not enough.

Correction, just saw that RyuVirus used his hat to buy both this hat, and a Vintage Bill's. That means he paid over 5 buds for this hat, not around 6.5.

I'll offer you one pristine crate for it

I was hoping to sell this thing for 5 buds, but this is still nice :P

            Sales here are:

            ~3 - salty sale

            ~3 - of modest sale

~4 - the summer hat sale - sold for more than his b/o of 4

            ~4.3 pure

5? - disco hoc (a vintage bills was added)

            On the market:

            http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/16159974 - willing to take 4

            Offered

            ~4 - bubbling shaman + 1

            3 pure

            http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/17273984 b/o 4

            Offers:

            ~3.5-4 - PE conn cap

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/16014038 - b/o 4 - the one that sold for the collectors engi

Well, I have to admit that while there have been a lot of b/o's at 4, they do seem to be selling for that value. Previous sellers with those b/o's were successful. There are a few sales at 3 and the one at 5. 3 flat seems to be low given the offers in the 3.5-4 range. Suggested range is honestly close here, it seems
