Adjusted lower value. 19 keys is NOT right guys. The ABSOLUTE MINIMUM price that is available is 19 keys and 2 refined if you're lucky. That's what I've lowered it to instead of 19.5 keys which should been allowed to stay up.

Why don't we try to match everything to the exact selling price don't we? Why do you think there are RANGES in the items. So that the seller can choose a price between the ranges he or she finds reasonable. Downvoting 100%

I doubt keys would stop at 10, if they got there, and this range is strange. ive never seen a range for an item like this have .3. isn't that a little hard to calculate with keys at 7 ref, since hardly anything goes into 7.

Buds have been rising in price so fast, they were probably priced lower than they are now when you tried to sell for 19.

buds are too unpredictable, you allow ranges like this and you'll need a price change every 3 days

From what I've expierenced the past few days, selling Earbuds at 20 Keys is difficult, but possible. (Avg. 1 Trade every 12 Hours). Buying for 19 Keys however, is easier. (Max. 1 Hour before I get an add.)

We need to decide what we want as a community. Either a absolute precise range where all trades are happening or a flat value that automatically implies tha there ae other prices happening. Choosing the 1st way requires bud suggestions every 3rd day...

The norm price of a bud used to be 45$ flat. That equals 18.07 mann co store keys going for 2.49. I have no idea why these keep going in price when no new ones have been added, only dupes. If anything, they should be going down.

FYI, no proof, just word of mouth on the 45$ disregard this comment if you wish, but keep that in mind.

You would be getting a better deal buying keys off the market than off the Mann Co. Store, even if it is only a 1 cent difference.

I can tell you that that is untrue. Firstly, the value is not imaginary. The entire TF2 economy is worth millions upon millions of dollars. There are many people that play the game exclusively to make profit.

Secondly, while it seems a lot of people believe that what gets approved and what doesn't is even a little bit dependent on what would profit the moderators, that is also untrue. Keys have been steady at 7 ref here for a little while now, and in that time at least one or two serious suggestions to bump the price up have been made, both denied. I think there was one for 7-7.22 and another for 7.11-7.22 from memory.

Just like the actual economy, nothing has any true monetary value until we put it there ourselves (aka If you're willing to pay for it, you'll do so). I'm just wordy and opinionated. Why do we passively accept these rising prices? We grumble and complain until keys rise to unreasonable amounts. Does anyone seem to realize how difficult it makes it for a new trader to get started. It would take weeks to raise enough metal to even buy a key, and the value of metal becomes less and less, until even low value items take a long time to save up for? Despite the temporarily stabilized key price, there is no decrease in sight. There is no solution in sight. This economy is no longer fair or fun, and I just cannot see how people still take an interest in this. We were given the chance to produce our own fresh and fair economy in TF2, and instead, it's just become a reflection of the real world. Greed will inhibit prosperity. I apologize for choosing to post my opinions here of all places, but it needed to be said, and people need to understand it and ought to try to actively change it. I mean no harm or ill-feelings towards anyone, and I wish everyone the best of luck in what is left of this hobby called 'TF2 Trading.'

Increasing key prices also make unusuals's more affordable. Isn't that ultimately the end goal?

Now listen here mate. If anything, the trading world is much better for a new player than it used to be. Your statement "until keys rise to unreasonable amounts" is biased and flawed. There is no reasonable amount for keys, they are a virtual currency with no predertimined connection to metal.

Now the reason it's better for a new trader is that once they buy their 2 keys from the store to go premium, they can sell them for metal and buy themselves some nice stranges, hats and miscs for a number of classes. Back when I began and keys were 2.66, I remember having to choose 2 hats to buy with my key.

And your comment "until even low value items take a long time to save up for" is simply incorrect. The rate at which people gather metal has remained the same, as has the price of low value items.

He has a point. The price of keys only went up because of peoples greed and hunger for profit, not because they cared about the team fortress 2 economy.

Gathered metal has remained the same? Lulz.......Once TF2 became F2P the alts created an enormous uptick with metal. There is more metal per player (includes alts) than ever in this game. Buds, bills and keys should remain constant of each other. It will always be 100 pennies to make a dollar even though what you can buy with that dollar changes. So as it must 3 bills for example should always equal a bud. x amount of keys should equal a non painted bills and so on. Inflation and deflation with the dollar will always mean 4 quarters, 10 dimes and 100 pennies.

For all you sheep following TF2 finance........How do you explain Valve charging the same $2.49 for keys but their price has rocketed. This is also squirrely because it is widely known that Russians (and a few others) still continue to buy keys from Valve with bad credit cards to unload on the market including SOP.

As far as the bud and key pricing........Lulz.

Keys are the 1 virtual currency that can actively be purchased with bad credit cards from valve yet those prices go up while the promo you can't get anymore such as max, buds and bills drop like rocks compared to the one thing you can still buy? Lulz.....There are thousands probably making huge amounts of cash watching how far this has come off the track.

It is impossible to use TF2 as a viable source of income. Think about it: If you made a bud a day, you would still be making a fraction of minimum wage, which I guarantee you is easier than profiting a bud a day.

I now realize how pointless this argument is. Although I do think this economy should loosen, and the prices should go down, at some point, everyone should realize that they have enough items and stop trading. If you're never satisfied with what you have, then what's the point of going on. People should trade to get what they want, and that should be the end of it. But people still continue to buy low and sell high to keep making a profit. As you said, it's not a viable source of income, so why do people keep doing it? That's what I don't understand. But like I said, it's not worth complaining about anymore. Sorry for wasting words on a pointless argument. I could care less what happens to the economy anymore. It's none of my concern.

Well, the issue is that new stuff comes out, and if you want that you're going to need currency if you don't want to lose what you already have (often for less than you paid for it).

For me, TF2 is almost entirely for trading now. It's a game to me to see how much I can end up with. The fact that I can actually sell most of that stuff for real money only sweetens the deal. Two Cities has helped me actually PLAY the game again, but only because I want Australium weps to profit on. I haven't touched the tours with dumb Botkiller weps because who gives a shit about those?

Remember that keys have gone up in value so 19-20 keys is good.
