No, it can't, otherwise half of unusual owners would be on trade probation.

i guess the information someone told me about those was wrong. how do you get on trade probation though?

ok, because i traded with a trade probation guy, and he said he traded dupped keys, so that's how he got it. is that a way too? or was he lying?

he was lying. plenty of keys are duped.

i always thought duped items were bad. so they aren't?

They are bad, but not for extremely common items such as keys. Things such as rare vintages (sparkle lugers, sparkle big kills, maxes, earbuds etc) and higher tier-mid tier unusuals it does. But steam doesn't care if you trade duped items; they're the ones who made a lot of them.

so how do you make a dupped item?

is steam support involved with making duped items? if so, then why?

There used to be an exploit with the old trade system. Now the only way to dupe something is to have Steam Support restore an item.
