Correct me if i'm wrong, but don't you scale the price according to what buds were worth back then? (i think they were 16ish keys)

Nope. The whole point of our switch to buds as currency was to emphasize that buds are a more reliable determination of currency than USD regardless of their value. 7 buds then is taken as 7 buds now.
