Eh. I dunno. He tried for weeks to sell it for 65 pure. And though he later increased that to an undisclosed amount, I think his pure price was quite a bit less than 100.

He wanted pure quickly because of personal reasons, sold some of his other stuff in that time, then decided to attempt to sell the Kit for its full value. Not sure how much total Earbuds he got from selling his other, but I know he got well over 50. Sold the Burning HazMat he had for like 35 I think, only accepted pure.

I am fully aware of his quicksells. I purchased 2 of his hats. My point is that even at full value, the pure value on this is not 100. But a sale is a sale. I won't close this suggestion.

Oh yeah, he also didn't really try "for weeks" to sell it. The longest he had the Kit up for was this trade http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/17381648 , which was only 9 days. It takes time for people to not only collect as much as he was asking for, but to also see the trade and spread the news to others who may be interested, but may not be specifically looking for it on Outpost or may not see the trade. I wouldn't really classify that as "weeks", more like a week.

As I already posted, he needed the pure for personal reasons at the time. After selling other hats for high amounts, he decided to put it up wanting more. And that's what he got. A sale is a sale, you've accepted things like this countless times in the past, some even based off of just offers from what I've seen.

If there would be another solid valid 90-100 bud unusual offer I would accept it without hesitation.

Not worth 100 pure. The problem with this site is that you try and back into pure pricing when the game just doesn't go in that direction any longer. With F2P the hats (even shitty one's) are given hyper inflated values since no one has pure.

He sold the hazmat for QS.....To me that wasn't a QS. He needed stuff he could actually turn into cash and he took it because he knows it was the best he was going to get in real money. Sure he could have held out but he would have gotten a mess of inflated hats not unlike the trade we are discussing here. Hats don't do you a world of good if you need green. I'd go as far as saying when you price with hats I'd only pay 50% in real cash.

Said another way.....100 buds would be about $3200 and I can tell you now that no one in this game with an ounce of reason would pay $3k for this misc. Lulz at the idea of doing that.

Anyway, this site has lost all connection with the units you use for pricing because none of them are remotely close anymore and especially on higher tier items.

Not sure where you are coming from. I have no problem selling my hats for pure. And I then used my pure to buy a scorching hazmat for 40 pure and a hearts ke for 40 pure and I will sell them for 45 pure each (have reserved the hazmat already and have a collecting on the hearts ke).

What you illustrate is exactly the problem. There are some hats that sell easily for pure. They should be valued more because they retain value in pure - think misc, all class hats, etc. Halloween and new effect hats never sell for pure. Overpay is our way to accounting for that discrepancy.

Huh. You just said the Hazmat was an 80 bud hat above but bought it for 40 pure to sell for 45 pure. That my friend is not an 80 bud hat. Its a 40 bud hat and 80 in unsuals maybe. Your overpay system is flawed like no other. I don't have enough aspirin to breakdown that voodoo other to say that the calculations being used are so far off the mark to account the difference from hats and pure that its embarrassing.

Someone already paid $3500 for a Golden Pan. Why wouldn't they do the same for a high tier one of one forever misc that is "themed"? If someone would pay that much for a silly Pan, they definitely would for a highly-wanted Unusual. That's just how this game works.

You make no sense. The Kit is one of 26, 1 of 1 on the effect. It can no longer be unboxed. The Pan is actively dropping, there's already 16 of them. Your logic is horrible.

As far as not unboxable? Link me to the Valve article saying that it can't be unboxed and never will again. Being unboxable and super rare are two different animals.

Maybe in overinflated hats from pricing made public here maybe. But you will never see pure remotely close to the buds your saying this hat is worth. No, you're wrong. Kyrann failed to sell for far less than 100 for ages, and Pans got offers of that and above in days.

Although normally I disagree with you, I'll be honest, I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head here.

Quicksells =/= actual price polar, you should know that. You should also know how great my quicksells are- considering you've bought two of them. Take that scorching hazmat for example- I paid a solid 80+ and had offers in that price range too, yet I sold it for 40.

Of course. I'm not saying the value on this is 65. I'm saying if someone had offered you 80 pure for this yesterday, would you have rejected? Maybe. What about 90 pure buds?

The problem on high tier hats is that the price in pure deviates greatly from the price in unusuals, especially when the unusuals consist of brutally difficult sells like the duped secret tc. On this site, our goal is price all items based on their price in pure. Is the price really 100 pure on this? idk, and we will never know since you didn't disclose the b/o. But I suspect you would have taken less in pure than 100 :P

There is no way I can argue with this suggestion. Obviously, even though you cut a few corners here and there, the suggestion is overall very accurate. The one thing I must complain about is the 0.2 bud component. The one-percent law states that any decimal that's smaller than 1% of the total suggested price is too small to really be cared about. Here you're showing 0.2% of the total suggested price, which is way too trivial in my opinion. In addition, some corners were cut here which could make the price vary, but generally, in the future I would recommend ignoring that 0.2 or just attempting to follow these rules. I really don't have too much to say as for the high price being suggested, the flaws don't really matter so long as the price represents the sale, which it most definitely does

Time to throw in another mod's opinion without actually handling the suggestion!

In my personal opinion, I think what matters more here is what it ultimately sold for rather than what it might have sold for or what the seller might have been willing to take in pure a day/a week/a month prior to the sale. This isn't an unusual that regularly trades hands, this isn't an unusual that's going to see more on the market, this isn't an unusual where- let's face it- what we put down here is going to have any influence whatsoever on how anyone trades these things. These high tier unusuals are and always have been their own little playground and what we put down here for them have always served little more than an interesting little record of how they've most recently changed hands. So long as the suggested price accurately matches the final transaction, for an item like this, I don't see any point in fussing over prior pure B/Os or thinking about what he might have alternatively accepted in pure.

I've been outside unusual suggestions for a long time now, so feel free to take all the above with a grain of salt.

As always, Vince is able to convince just about anyone. The 0.2 bit is really deceiving here because it gives a false sense of accuracy. The reality is that most hats used here are outdated and the sale value here is 100+/-10 buds. I would prefer a re-suggestion at 100 flat.
