Ghost Spartan OG suggestion: 2.7-3.2, on Oct 15th 2013. Buds = ~17 keys
Adjust to today's value: (0.9 * 3buds)*17/19.5 = 2.4 buds
Guad value is newly updated so sales price is 2.4 + 1 = 3.4 buds
So my previous suggestion was 3.2-3.8 and now I have taken the time to time correct using TF2Finance for the correct bud/key conversion at the time of the older suggestions and adjusted those values based on todays bud/key value. The resultant is 3.4-3.7.
Happy now Blind Polar? :P
Just use the original values = http://forums.backpack.tf/index.php?/topic/4350-new-rule-use-original-suggested-values-of-unusuals/
You don't need to convert anything else.
Using the OG values blindly is fundamentally flawed IMO. I know that's what you guys agreed upon, but the reality is that buds have fluctuated a lot in the past year and ppl were adjusting their b/os based on the bud/ key conversion. Many just started pricing in keys and some wouldn't even accept buds when they were really unstable.
This method, while extremely cumbersome, is the best possible way to use outdated values imo. Of course I always reality chk these values against the current asking prices.
What you guys should do is drop buds all together and store values in keys only. They are the true base currency. If valve made a way to make a super key that was worth 25 keys (or something) and could be converted back and forth like metal, buds would plummet. Much of the intrinsic value of buds is purely the ease of wealth storage imo.
That is not the best possible way. The best possible way is to actually track sales of the hat in question at that time. For example, look at trades on the TW tree a week ago when that sale occurred. If you did that on all your suggestions, I wouldn't have a problem. But using your adjusted values is not appropriate as it adds another layer of opacity in pricing items.
Accepting this as close enough to the value which would be 3.5-4. But please note that if you use your correction method on future suggestions and the range is deemed not close, the suggestions will be closed.
