Retired, rare hat (only 4) - 8 month old price
Last sale:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/17313616 (1 month ago)
Sold for Scorching brigade, 20 keys, P. Fetti trophy Belt, Stormy regulator, and 10 keys in sweets ~8.6 + 1 + 1.8 + ~1.5 + 0.4 = [b]~13.3 buds
- Had a offer of 12 pure that was accepted, but the buyer lost the trade that would have acquired the pure and had to retract the offer.
- Also rejected a secret front runner + P fetti trophy belt (~10.5)
Previous sale:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/16944658
-offered for a CLEAN beams cowl and a hearts gonzilla. This one is tricky because the current price on the cowl is very old and based off duped cowls sales not clean ones. The hearts gonzilla price is also very old as well. Considering the sale above, this sale would have exceeded the b/o which was 10.5 for the 2.
Now, the range:
1. It sold for 13.5, but primarily in items and it's clear it would have sold for 12 had that offer materialized.
2. The previous sale price is clouded so it's not nearly as reliable due to old prices and the sales that were used to set the prices of the cowl. (Recent sales > old sales and Offered on > offered for)
3. It's clear the buyer in sale 1 REALLY wanted the hat and was scared to lose it to another secret collector. Therefore, I feel that it sold for a bit on the high side. The buyer even indicated they felt they were paying a little much for it.
Setting the price at 12, the actual accepted pure price, and leaving half a bud on either side given the unique circumstances.
If you are aware of other sales let me know!
I'd favor a range of 10.5-12 based on the proof provided
Really? I feel like that sale is too messy to give much credit. Plus subsequent ~10.5 offers were declined. To me, this range is the best balance weighing in the 10.5, 13.5 sales and 12 would have been the pure price. Using 10.5-12 gives a lot of credit to that sale where it was offered as opposed to the more current 13.5 sale where someone that wanted the hat bought it.
Basically, pure > items, new sale > older sale & offered on sales > offered for sales
The two sales happened 1 week apart. Time is really not an issue there. One had a b/o of 12. Other sold for no more than 10.5. Your range, especially your high end of 12.5 seems too high for me.
Eh, fair enough I guess. I'll remake it.
