Just to clarify the bit on how many sales are needed. My opinion is that two sales should be used on all of these rare hats because you can't tell whether a single sale is an outlier.
Having said that, we have established a precedent that a single sale is fine. The rationale on the fdu suggestion was that the drop rate on the collectors cosmetics is a lot lower than it is for new effect unusuals (for which we established that rule). And the fact that Shadow has no interest in selling it, suggests that there may not be 2 sales within a 3 month time period. With this one, it's a bit different as the buyer immediately put it back on outpost. Still, given what we did with the fdu, I don't see how we would evaluate this any differently.
Thanks for the clarification. So if any collector's Miscs were to be sold in the future, would one sale be fine?
Well, there is somewhat of a judgment call. As I tried to convey above there are reasons both for and against pricing based on a single sale. I still think it's generally best to try to wait for 2 sales. For example, if there are already 2 collector's cosmetics on the market, then the likelihood that there will be 2 or more sales soon is fairly likely. In that situation, you should wait for a second sale. We will have to evaluate these on a case-by-case basis and will obviously take the community opinion into consideration.
There is the fact that the current owner is only selling as a set, a rather expensive one as well. I can agree with the other reasons..
