Well this is my attempt at pricing my collectors. I am using my second account because I am in the process of switching over all items from my original so I can start again. I made a new account due to many reasons one is the fact that my original profile - http://backpack.tf/u/76561198086308088 - Is glitched and can no longer trade (Not Trade Banned). Steam support is useless lol, all items from my original backpack will be transferred to this account later today and my original account will be shutdown Edit: I have finished switching over all of my items from my 1st accounts backpack to this one
I have no intention on selling this item until I complete my Collectors War pig Chemistry set so another sale is not likely to happen for another few months
For anyone who cares i have followed this hat from its creation to my possession and the only sales that could be used as proof is this one other than any item offers.
Sold for an Unusual Jumper Jeepcap with Misty Skull Effect
(If the current price is outdated does that mean that I cant use this item to price check? I am using the Original Average value * 90% (0.90) to get this price)
Price Calculation - 3.9 buds * 0.90 = 3.51 i then rounded this to 3.5 for a better looking price
(Average of Original Price Source - http://backpack.tf/stats/Unusual/Jumper%27s%20Jeepcap/Tradable/Craftable/44)
Any way here is the sale/proof -

Also for anyone saying i need two sales here is a quote rom Blindpolarbear -
"Just to clarify the bit on how many sales are needed. My opinion is that two sales should be used on all of these rare hats because you can't tell whether a single sale is an outlier.Having said that, we have established a precedent that a single sale is fine. The rationale on the fdu suggestion was that the drop rate on the collectors cosmetics is a lot lower than it is for new effect unusuals (for which we established that rule). And the fact that Shadow has no interest in selling it, suggests that there may not be 2 sales within a 3 month time period. With this one, it's a bit different as the buyer immediately put it back on outpost. Still, given what we did with the fdu, I don't see how we would evaluate this any differently." - blind polar bear

To emphasize on this controversial topic collectors kits for cosmetics items have a smaller drop rate than the new effects which the two sale rule was made for
I have no intention of selling this item until I complete another chemistry kit which will take several months. I will also sell as a set not individually
inb4 wall of qq with not even sales posts.
Also these 2 might be useful for that :)

Somebody tried to price this collector's before. As said there, the cap is outdated. You either have to update the cap price or provide a mini suggestion on its price.
Edit: oh wait that's you lol
Does it matter if its an outdated price if Im using the original price? Once again I find it rather odd that Im using the original price and people are telling me the current price is outdated.
What do you mean by original price.
Original Price is the very first price suggestion that was accepted. If that is not the original items value then what is?
"Sales older than 2 months old are not valid proof; this does not mean that they are not useful - please see full guide for how to use older sales in the context of new sales. The one exception to point out here is for very rare hats. If there have only been 1-2 sales in the last 3 months, a trade up to 3 months old is okay to use as proof to establish more data points. Keep in mind, new sales should take precedence over older ones." - blind polar bear
That's not what I meant. I mean the misty skull jeep cap you traded has an outdated price. You either have to update the price with a suggestion or provide a mini suggestion on here
"
IF YOU ARE USING AN UNUSUAL TO PRICE ANOTHER ITEM, USE ORIGINAL SUGGESTED VALUES INSTEAD OF THE CURRENT ONES.
IF YOU ARE SUGGESTING A PRICE DROP JUST WITH B/Os AND YOUR PRICE IS HIGHER THAN THE ORIGINAL SUGGESTED ONE, YOU NEED AT LEAST ONE SALE." -Woifi

When using an unusual to price another item we use original suggested value instead of the current one. So I took the original price average (3.9 buds) and multiplied it by 90%. When using this to calculate the value the current value of the hat should have no play in the suggestion.
Be careful:
If the last suggestion was a conservative drop
If the price is very old or if it never had a suggestion before (but still a price)
In those cases you should do some more research.
(Pasted from the link)
The jeep cap's price is 6 months old which means the price is outdated and unrealiable. The current value thing is for hats that still have a non-outdated price (less than 3 months old)
What I dont think you are getting is that when Im pricing this I am not using that price. http://backpack.tf/vote/id/5317b03c4cd7b82d6a8b4568 In this example they priced the human cannonball with the Original Average price to calculate the price they are not using the current price and neither am I. The current price has no part in this suggestion. You repeatedly tell me the current price is out dated, cool story bro, Im not using the current price I am using the price from 12 months ago and this was its Original Average Value which ive have said 1000s of times. So if I follow Woifi's price guide then here are my steps.
Step 1 - I am using this unusual to price this item
Step 2 - I am using the "Original Suggested Values instead of the current ones." - Woifi
Step 3 - I also calculate the overpay of the item and use this result to put a price on this item.
The sale was from March 9, 2014
The original value is being used and mostly all original values are outdate I have done nothing wrong here at all. Just by using the original value to put a price on this item should cancel out that rule because its paradoxical. I can't use outdated prices but, to price an item I must use the original item value average which is outdated so by this logic you just simply cant price new items with unusuals.
Just so you know, I priced the human cannonball.
I didn't use the original price of the unusual, I used the mid price of it and applied overpay. And why would you use a price of the unusual 1 year ago. I'm done arguing, let the mods decide
Because Woifi said to use the original items value lol its the very first thing said in this article - http://forums.backpack.tf/index.php?/topic/4350-new-rule-use-original-suggested-values-of-unusuals/
I did the exact same thing except lol I followed the new pricing rule and used its original value
I think 1 of 1 is a very rare hat
You're not understanding "Original pricing" at all.
If the pricing is OVER 6 MONTHS OLD, it is INVALID and should NOT BE USED AS PROOF. I'm going to downvote until I see the cap updated.
Then please explain to me how it works and its not "Original Pricing" its Original Suggested Value
I think original pricing means what the price of the unusual was when the trade happened.
theoretical: let's say a burning tc was traded a month ago for this hat. a month ago the burning tc was 50 buds, but currently it's 60, we take the "original" 50 bud value from the time of the trade
I wish this wasn't so confusing jeesh, all Im trying to do is price this hat thats all. I read over the guide and there are a dozen definitions for original so If you can find where he specifies this then I will be more than pleased
Also if this were the case it would be physically impossible to price this item. The value at the time of this trade for the jumpers jeep cap was outdated even if the jumpers jeep cap was updated it wouldnt matter because the "original value" of the item at that time was outdated so the logic would not make sense in a way that would make it possible to price this item. That is why I thought this logic didnt make sense and instead used the original price aka the first suggested and accepted price of the unusual.
and that original pricing is outdated.
I am also simply following the pricing guide the moderators have written lol
Also over 6 months is 7 months and it has not reached 7 months it is at 6 months
over 6 months is 6 months and a second technically, but it doesn't have to bump 7 to be over 6 is my point
...................
If a hat's original suggested value is over 3 months old, it should not be used because it is outdated. Think about it. If someone told you it's okay to steal because you don't get put in jail forever, would you do it? no. Common sense.
>Is glitched and can no longer trade
>Trades items from glitched account to new account
wat
Thanks for the suggestion. As indicated, the value on the jeepcap is 6 months old and is just not reliable to use. Your method of overpay calculation and everything else looks fine. But setting the value on an item based on another hat that has a price that old is just not reliable
