Average asking price from b/o trades: 33.6 keys
Average asking price from b/o trades without the 50 keys b/o: 32 keys
The above trades are pretty much all you can find on tf2outpost.com. There were only 2 pages of trades during the past 2 months, with half of them being old and inactive trades.
It is incredibly hard to find one and buy it for 28 pure keys, especially since the start of February 2014. The active trade owners reject 26-28 keys. On TF2TP.com I can't find any active for less than 30 keys. Here, at the time of writing, there are 3 trades asking for 29, 31 and 36 keys:
http://backpack.tf/classifieds/search/id/52cadc214dd7b86c2b8b456d
I bought one yesterday for 29 keys b/o, last month I bought one for 30 keys pure because I couldn't find any trade.
On steam market you can find some starting from 52 euros (about 30-31 keys if you buy cheap keys from the market).
These crates are salvaged for a reason and there is no "fear" that the included items will appear in a future salvaged crate. They include highly demanded strange weapons like the Machina and Klitzkrieg. According to trade.tf/crates: Chance of Profit from uncrating it is 39.60%.
I would like to know if anyone has sold this crate for less than 29 keys during the last 30 days.
Thank you,
h3xspirit
Uh, where's the solds?
You've just shown us unsolds and sellers for higher, you need to show us actual trades that went through to support your suggested price.
You need solds to raise a price
You have one sold at what you think is 30<. Where does 32 come from?
And why are you including all of these extra that do not contribute at all.
Also where is your sales at 29? They obviously aren't selling for 29.
Also a lot of these are incredibly old trades back when the WERE 30+ keys.
Downvote
32 keys is the average asking price from b/o trades without including the 50 keys b/o.
All the extras contribute to the shaping of the economy, show demand and supply trends, prove buy and sell orders and currency fluctuations . Just like when trading stocks, market news releases set the price up or down.
About 5-7 trades out of the 20 posted here are really old threads (>4 months), with half of them being active.
My buys with proof from trade history:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/18662830 - I bought for 29 keys yesterday (http://i.imgur.com/sNOr2Zw.png)
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/17867236 - I bought for 30 keys 4 weeks ago (http://i.imgur.com/Tn2E5qD.png)
Upvote? :)
B/O's are not sales. You can ask 80 buds for a winger, everyone could, No one would buy them. So would you raise the price to 80 buds just because people are asking 80 buds? Your sale at 29 and 30 support a raise yes but it does not support 32 keys.
Downvote! :)
so you bought above the current range and were successful? amazing :|
I couldn't find any when I needed them for current range. I am sure I could find 1 or 2 if I stay 24/7 for 5 or more days, browsing trading sites and joining trade servers. I would need a lot of luck though.
They were successful trades to me because the funds (keys) used to buy them, were from flipping on the Steam market two #30s that I bought two years ago for 13 keys each and buying 67 total cheap keys again from the market with my two sales.
30+29 (keys I spent for above trades) = 59 keys
67 (keys bought after flipping two old #30 crates on market) minus (-) 59 keys = 8 keys was my profit (not successful still?)
" 67 (keys bought after flipping two old #30 crates on market) minus (-) 59 keys = 8 keys was my profit (not successful still?)"
so ok, you claim to have sold two for 67 keys, so 1 for 33.5keys, and thus your suggested range still has no solds to prove it :? and what does your profit have to do with anything here. also, where's that bit saying "not successful still?" coming from? (my comment was meant to imply something like; person offers 3ref for 2ref strange, is able to buy it)
This is the complete opposite of how a suggestion for bumping a price is supposed to go...You have to show us sales at higher, but you are doing the complete opposite!
I am compiling them with proof, don't worry. Also, I will include proof from the steam market. I sold 4-5 if I remember for 59.80 euros (52 euros in my pocket after Steam taxes, and I bought 30-31 keys from the market). 50-52 euros is the cheapest you can find at the Steam Market, translating to 29-31 cheap keys from the market as well.
Steam market isn't valid proof.
Why do you say that? These are actual valid transactions. Steam users are listing Salvaged Crates #30 for the aforementioned prices, and almost daily they sell. There is even a daily sales chart proving that.
Proof from Steam Market sales (Screenshot):
I sold 3 Salvaged #30s for 52 euros each (59,80 euros listing price) in one day (listed 13th, sold 14th of Feb 2014)!!!

Sold for 52 euros (59,80 euros listing price) within one day (13th of Feb 2014)!!

You can't use it as proof. Read the rules
Rules are meant to be broken. Anarchy
the problem with steam market sales is that you can't get the money into real money, it gets stuck in your steam wallet. as I stated below, you can use it in support
Clearly he just want his own salvage to go up and yes he have one
Actually I have five (5). High five!? =) Clearly, to be honest, your comment is also one factor, but not the only one influencing me to initiate this price voting process.
admitting price manipulation is not the best idea
Ok, if the price of one of your items increases because someone and/or a group of voters admittedly or not admttedly manipulated the price, then don't be happy.
Price manipulation is not the case here or the best idea, in any case. I agree with you.
It was an honest statement, following my price suggestion which is based on documented proof and other factors which I believe in. A statement of happiness in case the COMMUNITY decides to increase the price. I will be happy to see my BP worth more, would you not?
I am not the authority to manipulate prices. This is why I created a democratic process for backpack.tf users to vote. The price range maybe will get accepted based on your votes, or maybe not.
Take it easy, you can still find a #30 for 29 b/o or less if lucky. Current accepted price according to backpack.tf is 26-28 keys.
"Clearly he just want his own salvage to go up" -SpaceDonut
" Clearly, to be honest, your comment is also one factor, but not the only one influencing me to initiate this price voting process" -you
price manipulation ^ price suggestions are for pointing out to people that the market has changed, not because you want an item to go up :| it should've already gone up in trading, just hasn't been marked on bptf yet
prices get accepted based on the admins review of the proof/market, the comments/ votes do hold some sway though, but ultimately it's up to the admins
(also I'm not out to buy one :P and I can tell what the current range is, as it so happens I can read! and see!)
also all you've showed is that it doesn't sell at higher prices meaning the price shouldn't go up...
"price suggestions are for pointing out to people that the market has changed"
Be honest, does it look to you that the market has not changed for it for the last three (3) months?
"it should've already gone up in trading, just hasn't been marked on bptf yet"
Ok, here is what you honestly believe? If yes, bptf just marks items that have gone up in trading whenever it feels like? Someone has to initiate a voting through a price suggestion.
"not because you want an item to go up"
I pointed out to people that the market has changed, thus I let the community know that I want this item's price to go up, based on market factors (what admins could't have done instead of me as you said)
"also all you've showed is that it doesn't sell at higher prices meaning the price shouldn't go up..."
I showed you that it doesn't sell at higher prices.
I showed you that it doesn't sell at the currently accepted price range.
I showed you that not many people list this item, a factor indicating in way how this is still a rare item.
I showed you demand for the item via the number of views, the offers (accepted or not), bookmarks.
I showed you that on steam market, 30s get sold for 52-60 euros almost daily (translating to 30-32 cheap keys from the market)
If the price increases, and traders use it as a reference on backpack.tf, then many trades will be accepted and created, creating a market flow, helping the tf2 economy, making buyers and sellers happy.
If the price goes down, salvaged will be one's salvaged for a long long time, a forgotten item, before the price eventually goes up.
"I showed you that it doesn't sell at higher prices."
why are you suggesting that the price go up...
" I pointed out to people that the market has changed, thus I let the community know that I want this item's price to go up, based on market factors (what admins could't have done instead of me as you said)"
I see no solds
"I showed you that not many people list this item, a factor indicating in way how this is still a rare item."
rarity =/= value
"I showed you that on steam market, 30s get sold for 52-60 euros almost daily (translating to 30-32 cheap keys from the market)"
only valid as supporting proof
"then many trades will be accepted and created,"
you just said "I showed you that not many people list this item, a factor indicating in way how this is still a rare item."
"salvaged will be one's salvaged for a long long time"
what's this supposed to mean
"a forgotten item"
bet you a salvaged crate's value that it won't :|
"demand for the item via the number of views, the offers (accepted or not), bookmarks."
I still see no solds
("then many trades will be accepted and created,"
you just said "I showed you that not many people list this item, a factor indicating in way how this is still a rare item.")
You missed the if statement to my then you quoted "If the price increases, and traders use it as a reference on backpack.tf, then many trades will be accepted and created"
I said
"I showed you that not many people list this item, a factor indicating in way how this is still a rare item." with regards to rarity of this item. Rare doesn't necessarily means increase in value, but we are talking about the #30, so in this case, we have enough proof that it is high Valued because is Rare (Value = Rare in this specific case).
For the steam market proofs I posted some screenshots, and also some of my recent buys for 29 and 30 keys. I also replied to another member that I am compiling a list of successful trades done for 29 -34, and I asked "I would like to know if anyone has sold this crate for less than 29 keys during the last 30 days."
shouldn't you already have the solds when you make the suggestion :|
"For the steam market proofs I posted some screenshots"
it's still only supporting proof...
Normally you would use this as counterproof
selling =/= sold
You just proved that this should drop down even further in price.
That doesn't make sense. He did not prove the price should drop. Nobody even submitted counter-proof of actual sales yet. I am neutral on this one.
from the "proof"
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/18051127 28 keys (User ignores requests and offers; 1 month old thread; unsold)
take this as you will *shrug*
Shrug? Not sure what you meant by that.
Nonetheless, under the backpack.tf model, sales equate to evidence.
Unsolds play a larger role when market prices (outpost, backpack, tf2tp) are below bp prices and unsold for a certain duration. I have done this on unusuals in the past.
This price suggestion doesn't show any of these traits nor has anybody provided the following evidence.
Still neutral on this one.
the shrug is to show that I don't care enough to pursue showing it needs a drop, I just wanted to point out that yes, there seems to be a 28key unsold in the links provided by the suggester (which earns me a few dislikes apparently). and unsolds within the range are fine too you know. and he hasn't "exactly" proven that the price should go up either....
Funny thing is that you counter proof your suggestion
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/18289389 29 Keys, 20 Days
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/18633740 30 Keys, 3 Days
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/18587694 31 Keys, 5 Days
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/17758537 32 Keys, 43 Days
why is this getting so many dislikes...
you need actual sales and offers, not unsolds above your price
