Before you insta downvote this because I own this hat, please read my proof.
To be honest, the real reason I am doing this is because I am tired of my bp being valued over a bud under where is should be.
Solds:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/18995491#latest: My trade, I bought this hat for a Bubbling Noble Amassment (1.3 buds) and about half a key of sweets
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/18104379: Okay this one is complicated. The hat was bought as part of a set, a strange sandvich safe (1 key) a strange pro killstreak gru (about 2.5 keys), a strange specialized shotgun (about 3 keys), a strange specialized killstreak minigun w/parts (about 8-8.5 keys) and the hat.
Before I go any further, I asked the guy who bought it in this trade (the guy I bought it from), and he said he bought the set for these two items:
A strange pro killstreak original w/ parts (about 26 keys) and a strange festive spec killstreak huntsman w/ headshot kills (about 14 keys) for a total of 40 keys (2.1 buds)
Do the math and subtract and you get the hat coming out to about 1.4 buds.
Hopefully this is good proof, please leave comments with questions because I know this is difficult to follow. Thanks!
I do not think that killstreaks add to price unfortunately.
you're right
That may be the case, but it shouldn't. We all know that a professional killstreak weapon is significantly more expensive/valuable than a unique weapon, don't we?
Well it's not the case, because killstreaks aren't price-able. As far as backpack.tf is concerned it's just a normal weapon, and I'm glad it's that way.
So we're talking Down Vote here, right?
Sad but yes
First of all, it would be possible to price the killstreaks. It would take a damn lot of effort, but we could price them. Same way we price unusuals. And why anyone would be happy that a killstreak is "just a normal weapon" is beyond me. They further add to that "customisation" of a loadout that many players love. They're a whole new market, a different aspect of the game.
I think they're a plague and they give people an excuse to ask way to much for their items. Also I just don't like the idea of them, I sorta like the professionals but that's it.
You have the right to not like them, but it isn't fair that backpack.tf doesn't recognise them as more than "just a normal weapon".
As far as I can tell, majority of players dislike Nuts and Bolts and Massed Flies effects. Many people consider those effects plagues or "cancerous". But that doesn't give backpack.tf the right to ignore them and say that they're "just normal hats", now does it?
Well, if this gets closed due to killstreaks, I'll open up another suggestion after I sell it.
Okay, update. I just sold this hat for a Flaming Lantern Football Helmet. http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/19070843#latest
It's price hasn't been updated recently, so I looked on outpost and discerned that its worth about 1.4-1.5 buds (the backpack.tf price is 1.7 buds).
Range is probably close
