.25 more common traded, if there's tons and trusted and easier to get for .25 why should .26 be in the range?
I got nothing against this suggestion. How come every time refined goes my whole backpack goes down? it's not like my backpack is full of refined. Maybe it's because everything is priced with refined, if that is the case I don't think all tf2 items should go down just the metal it self.
Ever take a class in economics? It's called inflation.
To be honest, I don't think everyone on the site has actually taken a class in economics. In addition, your point is completely irrelevant to what he just said.
Inflation? I don't think that could happen with refined metal, that would mean there would be so much refined that it would increase drastically all other prices, rendering it practically useless. Look up Post WW1 Germany, that's what inflation really is, and you can learn that in history class.
Because apparently people don't know what inflation is, "The less value <currency> (metal) has, the more it takes to purchase something"
if i get what you say all the items should rise ex: craft hats 1.44 ref
Yes, since the currency used in TF2 is refined, when that goes down, all prices on items, even unusuals, go down
Well the contents of your backpack aren't changing. If this is the current more accurate price then you're losing value that was never really there.
While you are at it, post also links from source-op, tf2-trader and other trading forums/sites.

Refined Metal dropping makes space for Keys to go up in metal, but not in USD value, also, everyones backpack will go down in real life money value every time refined drops.
Oh boy, here it comes...
Upvoted, nice proof.
Keys go up ref goes down Looks Good Upvote!
mouse goes squeak.
what does the fox say?
Aww, dammit D0, and I JUST hit my 1000 value milestone ;~;. Guess I'll have to hit it again, but yeah there seems to be alot of sellers at a quarter so looks good, 26 is pointless.
I was about to hit 300$. Why d0 why?!?!?
btw Upvote
I feel your pain. I was about to hit 300$, too
and me! Why d0000000000
that makes 4 of us XD
Me too, I'm close-ish, that's 5 peeps now lol
And I'm sitting here with my 94$ ;_;
I was at 400 for ~1 1/2 months just got out to ~460. Back to 400 I suppose.
And with the G.Fetti stash price update I was going to hit $500
sadface
Well atleast now you can hit the mark twice
Owns 25, price manipulationUpvote
Good proof in my opinion. Nothing against this honestly.

This isn't for his personal gain that's nice upvote.
The fact that keys are rising is why refined are going down. Metal Price is inversely proportional to Key Prices [in maths terms]
Ps, brace yourselves for a 2% depreciation of your bp value
Keys are not rising my friend, refined is dropping. In economics terms....
Normally keys go up, and then the refined go down. So i would say that refined is dependant on keys [maths terms]
not that it matters in pricing refined, but if keys were going up, how come they are the same price they have been forever, unless your paying more for them from the mann co store or the market place. Keys go up in metal price because it takes more metal to equal a key because refined is getting cheaper. Learn some mannconomy buddy. keys arent going up, metal is going down...
Key prices are going up in refined value. Which means that refined has to decrease in value to match the real $$ proportion of keys. Its the rise in key:refined ratio that is causing the depreciation in refined. If keys werent going down, then refined wouldnt be going down/
refined is going down because there is an over abundance of it, people are hoarding it, has nothing to do with key prices. If more people crafted with it then the price would go back up. supply and demand my friend.
Have you not realised that a key rise (in ref) occurs, and then the refined go down? Which shows that refined is dependant on keys. But this is just going in circles, so im just going to make this the last comment on this back and forth useless conversation
2% is that all?
(25/25.5)*100= 98 (% of orginal amount)
So a 2% depreciation :)
Looks good to me. Upvote!
brings a tear to my eye
my bp value fuckupvote.
The Proofs seems quite serious.
Upvote for me
Downvoted. As great as the proof is, as big of a rep whore I am and as much as I love d0 seeing refined drop makes me cry. The suggestion will still of course probably get accepted anyways.
"As great as the proof is, as big of a rep whore I am and as much as I love d0 seeing refined drop makes me cry."
Your reasoning isn't the best, let's be honest. For starters, you stated that the proof is good, yet still downvoted. Logic =/= Opinion
I downvoted because I don't want refined to drop. After that I said the suggestion will still get accepted anyways, so in the end my vote doesn't matter. I accepted my opinion will lose since the beginning anyways.
Still, you're -repping yourself if this does go through. Once again, Logic =/= Opinion
Yes I know, thank you captain obvious.
is this guy serious? I mean obviously its a stupid decision but hes standing for what he belives in is his point I think
Pretty much yeah

I would upvote this. I generally base my prices for community market funds (would be easier if valve wasn't so greedy with taxes [King Gaben III, anyone?]) at around $.25. [Opinionization Alert!] IMO it works better being 4 ref = $1 instead of some odd amount. But it's probably be even further easier if the price was divisible by 9 because then say 1 ref = $0.18- believe me it'll happen- .11 ref will be $0.02, making community market pricing a bit easier. Again, opinions.
tl;dr $0.25 is more used (I guess it fits more), it'd make pricing on the Market easier. People are upset that they don't get to their milestone.
scm value of ref has absolutely nothing to do with the real $ value (except some super indirect method). SCM value of ref is determined by the selling price of a key on the steam market and then the ratio of ref to keys in trade. The value of ref here is determined solely by the value people are willing to pay in real money via paypal or some other method.
Eg: 5$ in vouchers is not the same as 5$ on hand. Same principle here.
esto es ridículo.
Just asking to learn. Is this enough proof for a currency ?
With trades with hundreds of ref for sale and sold at $.25 then yes, it is enough.
Seems like ref seels slow as always and even 0.25 takes some time even with regular bumping on different trading sites. Seems like seller at 0.24 appear as often as sellers at 0.26 with 0.25 being the most commonly traded price.. Votes are very positive for a ref suggestion so I have no problem accepting this.
