I was offered Sunbeams Conjurer's Cowl + 1 bud: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/19099456#latest (by Unusual Neymar).

This guy was offered the same: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/18952898 (by Unusual Neymar).

In the end Chieftain's was sold for the Cowl and 9 keys to the other guy since he was willing to go a bit lower.

Both Cranwell and I had the same B/O of 6.5 buds.

Posting only so little as proof since there were only 2 of those on the market.

Buyouts on the Sunbeams Cowl range from 5.5 to 7 buds so I'm suggesting a price range of 6-7.5 for the Chieftain's.

The Reggae was GBH which is still unpriced. My b/o was 9 pure and I asked for at least 11 in unusuals. I accepted the DeGroot as 2,5 which gives us 4 buds combined with the bud and 7 keys. Thus, I accepted the Chief as remaining 7 buds.

Didn't want to use this as a proof since both Reggae and Chief are unpriced and it would be highly subjective.

As I said before: I'm not hiding the fact that I want to set a good price for the hat since I own it but it's not like I sharked it for 2 hats or something. I paid a decent price both for the Reggae and therefore for Chief so you can take your butthurt somewhere else.

also if you look through the history of both of those, they have been sold multiple times. find out any recent sales and what they sold for, and come back and re -suggest to give this baby a price :D

There's no need to be rude. You need to show 2 sales to price this unusual. And since I have to go, I just skimmed quickly, but don't see proof for 7.5, correct me if I'm wrong :)

I gave a price range of 6-7.5 because there are people selling the cowl for 5.5-7 buds. So if we take the lowest price of 5.5 and add those 9 keys that were also paid, it gives us 6 buds. If we take the highest b/o of 7 buds and add 9 keys, it gives us 7.5 right?

I do understand that most of you are butthurt cause I own the hat and I clearly want to get a good price for it but I don't see anything wrong with the suggestion since the other guy sold it for the exact price.

Two things:

• Your b/o and Cranwell's b/o are both 6.5 buds, it's below your upper price, meaning this suggestion is not accurate.

• The Cowl is priced 5.3–5.9 buds. After overpayment calculation + 1 bud, it's ~6 buds. This is probably the upper range for the chieftain, but we don't know that for sure. This is why, as many already have stated, you need two or more sales to determine the range of a new unusual.

Ok thanks. But do we really have to accept only the price range from backpack.tf? As I showed in my proof, only 2 people are looking for lower than 6 buds while 4 other are looking for 6+.

I'll try to get some more proof if this gets downvoted but I'm not sure if the previous owners will be interested in this and help with trade history or anything like that. Also don't want to use the trade where I bought the Chief since my hat was (and still is) unpriced too so it would be unreliable.

Yeah that trade is not really useful, I also found trades for a scorching chieftain which is outdated, and a demonflame buto which is indeed prices, but I forgot what was added on top of the chieftain.

9 keys were added and not 1 bud as initially offered. I asked cranwell too.^^

And your beams cowl + 9 keys sale is 5.5 (5.6*0.9+~0.5).

You should use site prices on the cowl and not buyouts (because that includes a duped one). :P

So yeah you need to find another sale (there were plenty of sales in the last 2 months) which is closes to 5.5 since I'm quite sure 4.3 is an outlier. Your suggested range is wrong obviously.

Meh, I'm not in a mood for arguing anymore but those rules/calculations are kinda off to me. I don't understand why we should multiply the price by 0.9 or even use the price from bp.tf that was set around 2 months ago http://backpack.tf/vote/id/5303b1284dd7b893498b4568 and we're ignoring the fact that most of the owners are not willing to go below 6 buds.

Let's just say that I have my point of view and you guys have yours. Maybe some other people will share my reasoning and we should leave it at that, no need to convince each other anymore.

Anyway, how about we wait and see what the end vote is and maybe I'll make a new suggestion. Unless you're going to close it anyway or not accept even if it gets a positve score.
