SORRY DON'T KILL ME D: Closed the last suggestion because...well, that started out terribly. But I fixed everything. And included 7.55, after looking at my proof again.

Counter-suggesting because the price should be higher than 7.55 flat, according to the proof I have.

This is only my second suggestion. But quick observation of the market proves that the price of the key is raising a lot.

The guy selling for 12 ref was previously selling for 8 ref, he changed the price recently.

He was selling for 8 over a year ago. I'm sure he's slowly increased his prices since.

I don't see your proof...a simple glance at outpost, and I found there are more 7.55 - 7.66 sellers and buyers than anything else (except 7.77, but w/e). I gave you at least 100 links to prove my range. But if you really think 7.22 - 7.44 keys is better, maybe you can countersuggest.

anyway, i'am just going to skip to conclusion, you only have about 2 links AT BEST 3, that are still selling at 7.55. they're COMPLETELY Q.S within a day if you're selling at 7.55. might wanna get more links or resuggest flat 7.66?

Yeah, I'll admit, 7.55 sells pretty quick. but the other suggestion proves there are still a LOT of 7.55 ref buyers, so it should be included for now.

However, the key is gonna keep rising. After this suggestion, it could become 7.66-7.77, who knows. When I suggested, I found there were a lot more 7.55 and 7.66 buyers and sellers than anything else.

if you're trying to raise the price of an item, you prove solds(solds and the oringinal price is in Q.S range)

if you're trying to drop the price of an item, you disprove sales at oringinal price( unsold)

when buy, lower the price, when sell, raise the price.

thats how sales work, and according to those buyers, 7.55 is already the "lower" price

before your vote, we lived in harmony, in peace knowing that keys are stable, after you posted the vote, we frustrate knowing that keys are going to raise, thats why people starts raising prices already.

i don't really care about what happens after this suggestion, i'am not going to decide this vote based on how refined are droping and chiz, i vote based on your proof. from what i can see, you don't have lots of proof for 7.55. and do i seriously have to switch page just to look at 7.55 sales? NO, i don't have to, no one here has to, they just look at your page...... bring those 7.55 sales to your post through edit or comment, i don't care how you do it.

you have reasons that refined is droping, but key is raising because 2 person posted raise on key at the same time which basicially made everyone buying keys sh*t their pants, they thought they might make a quick deal if they buy at a higher price. When the sellers saw that, they started raise the price too, thanks to your double combo key raise, you've made everyone sh*t their pants. JUST LEAVE IT BE....;.

anyway, refined is dropping, i understand. BUT your proof, i don't. 7.55 is in the Q.S range now thanks to you, that didn't help anyone, most of your 7.55 links are down, packed with ref or outa stock. NEED MORE PROOF FOR 7.55 or else its a downvote for me

It'll never be stable...more refined metal is being made every day.

The more likely cause is that Keys rising in price is causing Ref to go down (in money), not the other way around. The average trader doesn't care if the monetary value of 7.55 Ref is the same as the monetary value of 1 Key, but if it weren't, paypal trading would essentially be broken. When the Keys go up in price, Paypal traders stop buying Ref at the old price because it is more profitable to buy keys, forcing Ref down.

tl;dr - Most people don't care about the Key's monetary value, so stating that it is what controls the Key<->Ref exchange rate rate seems silly, imo.

We're not fiddling with anything. We're trying our best to keep an accurate price for items, and as more refined is being made each day than keys, keys will rise, while metal will drop.

7.55-7.66 leaves a middle value of 7.60 and refined at $0.25 means 7.6 x .25 = 1.9

Keys have been $1.90 for some time now. If you think keys are rising in price, get smarter. Refined is falling.

It's funny how so many people blame backpack.tf for raising key prices, while it's actually completely their fault. All backapck.tf is doing is recording what people have bought and/or sold keys for. IF people would spend an extra minute looking for a key being sold at the backpack.tf price instead of indulging the greedy schmucks that want an extra two scrap, this wouldn't be a problem.

Nobody sells keys at 7.55 right now. 7.55 is quicksell. If you know one please tell me so i'll buy 10 key at least :) And Suggesting closing this one and opening new one 7.66 flat. (Yes i hate rising of prices,too. But reality doesn't care me)

I agree. Buying for 7.44 is almost impossible, and buying for 7.55 is very hard. I bought one today for 7.55 few secs after it appeared on classifieds. If you miss it right after posting, forget about buying.

There's more people selling and buying for 7.55-7.77 range, mostly 7.55 to 7.66. If you go on outpost, people will be buying and selling anywhere from 7 ref to 12 ref. I found nearly 40 sellers at 7.66, almost 50 buyers at 7.66, and in the other suggestion, there was a LOT of 7.55 buyers. 7.22-7.55 sells way too fast, and many traders have adjusted to higher prices. However, due to the vast amount of buyers at 7.55, it should still be included. It will raise soon enough whereas 7.55 will be excluded, but it is appropriate in this suggestion.

7.55 might sell fast but it's still possible. There's still a ton of buyers and sellers at 7.55. Of course the price is still raising, it'll probably reach 7.66 flat as soon as this gets raised again.

Sir, one person does not determine the market. You just listed a bunch of keys at 7 ref. That helps nobody, and does not prove the price is lower.

Its not the amount of the item, its the amount of traders. If one person banked up a shit ton of keys, and then sold them all for 15 ref, do you think anybody would pay that?

Lol, 60 buds do not change the market price for keys, more for like unusuals only, even if you sell keys at 7 ref each, we'll just take it that you're quickselling it because it's below the current range

I just thought that since the market is determined by both sellers and buyers, the fact that buyers for 7.55 are more abundant than for 7.66 would support the range. So I'll keep this suggestion up. But you're welcome to downvote, provide counter-proof, or whatever you feel is necessary. If this and the other suggestion both are rejected, I will re-organize my proof for a 7.66 flat suggestion. Thanks for pointing that out.

It's inevitable... The key price goes up, people sell it for more, the key price goes up again, people sell it for more... We all know how that works and everyone already told that... I wonder how weird it would be if Coca-Cola sell for like 10$ in some country and any other country have to pay 10$ for one because they have proof that people are buyin' for 10$...

I have bought atleast 10 keys for 7-7.44, but it isn't enough to overrule.

Dis iz the common price so it doesn't make sense to disagree, but there are some outliers that I have luckily bought using trade.tf and OP. Also, unfortunately, I have not taken screenshots of those, but anyway, it would not matter much against the list above.

8 ref would be $2 so I don't know what you're talking about.

I keep wondering why so many people complain on key suggestions and then I realized that anybody still trying to buy keys at 7.33 to flip would not want this to pass as they would have to offer more.

I posted a classified + tf2outpost for selling a key at 7.66 ref.

The best classifields end quick. Btw bots make an huge profit(Buying 7.55 Selling 7.77) AND people still want to buy from them..

Well, we have let both of these suggestions sit for a while now. Votes are pretty similar. Both suggestions are at ~50%. Perhaps it is because the community is divided on which suggestion is better? At the end of the day, it seems that the sheer volume of trades at 7.66 is hard to ignore. There are a huge number of buyers at 7.66, perhaps because it is such a convenient trading price (7 ref + 2 recs instead of having to make tedious calculations and smelting of metal for keys at 7.55). Whatever the reason, it seems at this point of time 7.66 should be included in the range. Yes, there are sales happening both above and below this suggested range still. But 7.55-7.66 seems to capture the most commonly traded values for keys.
