HE OWNS ONE, GET HIM! Wait, no, this is an unpriced hat that needs to be dialed in with a price.

This hat has remained unpriced since it has existed. I'd like to suggest the fair range of 1.7-2 buds, as this is where I have seen it sell and have bought it for personally to use for my Demo. Please note that I can be found in the chat history of the majority of these trades, as I was actively looking to buy this hat. This has no effect or bias intended on the submitted price range; I am pricing it fairly with proof.

Considering the scant amount of these existing, I can only offer 3 outpost trades where the hat is listed with a solid price, and has been sold for that price.

Sold:

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/19283627 - sold for 1.5 buds (30 keys)

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/19053324 - sold for 2 buds (40 keys at time of same w.buds 20 keys)

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/18298173 - sold for 2 buds (40 keys at time of same w.buds 20 keys)

Unsold:

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/18119624 - unsold at 50 keys for 2 months

Other:

The few current available hats for sale that can be found are taking offers by their owners, but have no b/o so I won't list them.

I am listing the low end as 1.7 because the average sale of this hat is 2 buds solid and holds the majority over the single 1.5 that can be found. Since I have not seen this hat sell for more than 2 buds personally, or at least cannot find any history of such a sale, I believe the upper range is firm at 2 buds.

And again, the lowest I have seen this hat sell for is 30 keys pure; this is in my opinion a quicksale for this hat, as the trades' time from being opened to it's selling time and being closed was almost instantaneous. I was unable to add the user and buy the hat when I saw it listed for this price because another user scooped it up before I could.

Thank you, and any other proof that can be dug up would be greatly appreciated if you have owned or sold one of these.

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/19283627 - sold for 1.5 buds (30 keys) no actual proof it sold for 1.5, all I see is a comment that doesn't state he's paying that

    http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/19053324 - sold for 2 buds (40 keys at time of same w.buds 20 keys) quote: Sold for 2 buds (I added 8 keys) / so 2 buds - 8 keys (~.4 buds) = ~1.6 buds

one unknown sale and one with an incorrect price, and we're not sure the third sold for 2 buds either, since the Damien guy mentions he has a hat he was willing to 1:1 with.

isnt the suggester the damien guy :o?

        oh shit lol i'm dumb

well @ Damien, you should post a screenshot of the one you bought and whatnot. And even if your sale is true, the two of three sales aren't enough for me to believe.

Sir, there is a user in the comments of listing #3 who openly offers 40 keys pure. After that comment, the trade was closed. I appreciate your feedback but these aren't mystery sales, people have bought this hat for 2 buds solid, I don't understand why you don't think this is actual proof. Could you explain? There are only a handful of these that even exist and they are rare, this is all the data I could find. And yes, i was looking to 1:1 trade a hat with the same effect which I unboxed myself for it because it was a spy hat and I don't play spy, and just wanted the bonnet to wear. There's nothing sinister about this at all, I'm just trying to put the realistic range on it.

The new owner didn't comment on link 3 so there's no proof there that it sold for 2 buds as you claim. Going by histories of hats it can be seen that the Bonnet sold for a Dead Presidents Lucky Shot which would be ~1.6. See how the names of the owners nicely match up? http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/19236946

If you did in fact pay the 1.5 buds for yours then the low end should be 1.5, not a magic number you came up with as an "average" which considering you have no proof of 2 bud sales, your range should actually be 1.5-1.7.

There's also 11 of these right now, hardly as rare a hat as you claim.

Ok I understand what you're saying, but as I said, the range is accurate. If the highest asking price is 50 keys and the lowest selling price is 30 keys, being that it is in fact a rare hat (only 11 exist out of the 313,713,300 items that exist in the game; this puts it at 0.000003506386245020533% of all items), as I've shown the quicksale is 1.5 and the median is 1.7, with the high end being 2 solid, with proof of pure offers in exactly that range. Do you think the hat is worth less than it's quicksale? As far as I can tell, this is what you are implying. I didn't come out here trying to price this hat at 3.5 buds, this is exactly what it sells for and is valued at. I just need more clarification as to why you believe it doesn't meet the high end of that range, even though there is obvious proof of this.

Just to clarify so it's as clear as possible why I say 1.5-1.7

-You claim to have bought yours for 1.5 in pure which makes up the low end. You can call it a quicksale but with unpriced unusuals it's hard to know what a quicksell price actually is and the best indicator is that it's far off from other sales. This is 0.2 off the most expensive sale you have so it's hardly an outlier and perfectly valid.

-Another one sold for 2 buds but they gave back 8 keys, taking buds as 19 keys that's a sale of ~1.6 which sits nicely in the middle

-Another sold for a Dead Presidents Lucky Shot which is priced at 1.8-2 buds. Accounting for overpay (mid end * 0.9), or 1.9 * 0.9 = ~1.7 which makes up for the high end

-You have no proof of any other sales and sales are the only thing that matters when pricing an unusual for the first time.

You have nothing except retracted offers and B/Os to back up 2 buds which means nothing. Sales are the only thing that matters when pricing an unusual. As an extreme example, if I set a B/O of 1 bud for a piece of scrap does that mean scrap is now a bud? If someone offers a bud on a piece of scrap but then retracts it does that mean scrap is now worth a bud? Unless an exchange actually happens then an offer is meaningless for setting a price.

Unusuals are an intrinsically rare thing but there's nothing special about this hat, I can see three of them on outpost right now which hardly makes it anything special by unusual standards.

Accounting for overpay on that DP Lucky Shot? What overpay? Isn't it clear they traded it as even money? Why not just say they both traded 1:1 for a 2 bud hat? This solidly justifies the high end as 2 buds. Also, "but with unpriced unusuals it's hard to know what a quicksell price actually is", that's circular logic. This is why I started the vote in the first place sir, so we could get a handle on its range which is apparent. It's fine though, i appreciate your input and we can agree to disagree. I guess we can just wait for the vote to pass or fail. Either way, I know demo stuff above all else, and I feel there is enough proof to prove this is an accurate evaluation.

What is your fucking deal man? This is really solid price. The fact that you come on here and get mad at him for no reason. I agree with this, so do many other people. Your 1 voice won't change everything, especially since the facts that you are trying to back up are incorrect. I say just stop. You are wrong, and you are getting really annoying.

See, I'd be taking you seriously but you have Mr//Miss Damien here on your friends list and you've made no contribution of any kind to the site, whether a vote or a suggestion, so instead I'll say nothing more.
