3 buds appears to be a quicksell as the only sales are a few weeks old and there isnt a seller for 3. And also rejected offers for Maxes heads.
if a trade is too old to be used as valid proof just leave it out

with all the b/o's and sales at 3 buds and under, why is the price going up? if anything the 2 sales above 3 are outliers because of all the b/o's at 3. or that 3 should be included in the range.
A guy offered his on my max and i turned him down it's got to be a no from me. mostly off that personal experience feel free to reply to persuade me!
if his offer is still valid, take it yo. these dont sell often. last sale was for 4 pure today. easy profit if you can sell your max for it :p
impossible to get it for 3 buds... got mine for 4 buds pure (http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/19755489) (one of the "cheapest" I was able to find). Maybe I am such a worse trader that I wasn't able to get it cheaper but from my point of view upvote.
proper proof right here. 3 is gonna be virtually impossible save few a couple cases of quicksales.
Sold mine for a lvl 1 lime max head + 12 keys in ~2 hours.
Also declined 3 buds.
Depending on what you value the max at ( I sold a pink level one recently for 3 buds) its ~3.5-3.7

eh 3-3.8 would be better imo, but I guess you could make the case that that 3 is being rejected and selling quickly. Votes are quite positive as well. accepting
