http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/19635945 offered a collecting 4 buds by Baconator and 3 buds twice by others. Unusual offers include a Vivid Tree which is ~3.1 buds with overpay

Setting the price as 4 buds since that's the most recent and relevant sale. Based on grimdercell's suggestion 5 days ago. The two other sales are one last month for 2 buds which seems outdated now and another for a DP Fruit Shoot which doesn't seem worthwhile to include since the trader didn't appear to use Outpost and was either trading for an unusual he wanted and/or simply using backpack.tf prices.

I don't want this to become a misc, so I can see how angry people get about it, lol.

Solid proof, and an upboat from me.

Why do people think this will be a misc. Why is every single hat rising because somebody thinks its a misc. It's really annoying, sometimes I wish valve would just remove equip regions on everything so the shitty misc hype dies completely

I don't see how this could end up being a misc, that pencil would clip with the helmet pretty bad, and the hair would barely show...lol.

I heard rumours the headsplitter might be a misc soon too, but fuck, it's in the middle of the head, no way will that ever work

Basically, if someone tries to sell something for more because it may become a misc, don't fall for that shit, also upvote.

The Noh Mercy clips with a lot of hats and it originated as a misc: http://oi55.tinypic.com/20j4rup.jpg not to mention the Soldier's Stash doesn't necessarily clip well with everything either. No misc is perfect :)

Your first link itself is invalid. The hearts pencil pusher that was sold to Baconator is a painted one. Painted pencil pushers are rare, and shouldn't be taken into account for price suggestions. The previous suggestion already did it: http://backpack.tf/vote/id/537ecd134cd7b8d81a8b4ba0 . Also you're ignoring 2 other recent sales which were sold at around 2 buds.

Also, baconator did not offer collecting 4 buds for the one Jimmee own, he offered a peace lucky shot, and both 3 buds offers are now retracted.

As already stated on this suggestion and on yours the 2 bud sale should not be included since there have been multiple offers of 3 buds in pure on the current ones on the market. While backpack.tf is supposed to report recent sales, its also supposed to contain common sense that 2 buds should be excluded from the range. In regards to the first sale being invalid, I do not see it that way since Baconator was already willing to pay that amount to Jimmee before tf2trademule put his painted one up for sale suggesting he had no intention of paying more for a painted version and simply was after the Circling Heart Pencil Pusher.

Also: http://puu.sh/99RSR/8e4bb3bf42.png and the offers of 3 buds were still made, the fact that they were not taken immediately and then later retracted shouldn't invalidate them. This hat really isn't a dream hat for most so they move on and buy another hat or item. Most pure offers do not stay valid for long in general.

Baconator asked "if I could get 4 pure, will you take it?", followed by "probably isnt gonna happen" and "I may be able to do 3.5, we'll see.". That offer was made on 20th of May.

Baconator DID NOT even consider 4 buds pure here.

Now look at this, tf2trademule put up his trade on 21st of May, and on the 22nd, he immediately offered "would you take a max + a bud as 4 pure?" after his initial offer was rejected.

Now if you're assuming he has no intention of paying more for a painted version, I have every reason to believe that your assumption is wrong. Jimmee would've taken 4 buds pure, but Baconator himself had already said that it's unlikely to happen and that he might offer 3.5 buds. But he was willing to offer 4 buds without much hesitation on tf2trademule's painted one.

Painted pushers are rare, and you can't just assume someone wouldn't pay more for it.

Baconator acknowledges the rarity of the painted pencil pusher: "Pencil pusher became unpaintable in early 2012. Quite rare. Keep this in mind when offering." . If you're telling me he "had no intention of paying more for a painted version and simply was after the Circling Heart Pencil Pusher.", I find that extremely hard to believe.

Also, I don't see why we can't wait for Jimmee to sell his, before suggesting a new price for this pencil pusher. After all, he would've most likely taken 4 buds pure, and none of his offer seems to exceed 3.5 buds. There is no point pricing this at 4 buds based on a rare painted one, when the unpainted one currently on the market didn't even have any offers around 4 buds to support this suggested price.

You have a fair point, I don't mind waiting. Not going to be stubborn about it, but it appears Jimmee isn't actually going to sell. He just keeps raising his minimum after every good offer originally saying 3 buds was definitely worth consideration to Aegis, but then later telling Baconator he might consider 4 buds since he'd already been offered 3 buds.
