i am posting this based on market exchange and current bp.tf pricing for keys/ref echange
at 8.33 ref for one key and the current steam market prices for keys being sold is 2.36 at bottom dollar
.27 x 8.33 = 2.24 .28 x 8.33 = 2.33 setting refined at the CORRECT pricing based on key value and market goods
of need be i will link proof directly from the market
proof for poster below v

Further Proof
http://i.imgur.com/jarqDxl.jpg
since no one can scroll through the graph themselves
look for yourselves
if 400+ sells on the market DAILY at or below the current key price divided by the CURRENT bp.tf price of 8.33 ref per key isnt proof
then i suggest you open your eyes a little and close those overflowing backpacks
proof > logic and math
re read the desc
common sense does alot
tf2 community market key price fluctuates so the market isn't a good source of proof to be honest
the link shows all the fluctuations in the graph for the last month the majority of all key sales have been in the range or above what i have, it has not fluctuated much at all
proof > common sense
all the proof you need right there ^ read the actual link and look through it, my god if 400+ sales in one DAY doesnt show that then fear god how do you aprrove 1 sale in three YEARS at a price, im using the ECONOMY to show the economys off and should be adjusted via MONETARY
And how much of the proof is fabricated? I like math and logic better.
none of its fabricated, click the link and use your brain
I didn't mean it like that. The guy who I replied to said proof > math and logic. And that isn't always true as some of the proof, not in this case, is fabricated.
I never said this proof is fabricated. You used the value for the key on the market and how many refs a key is worth. I think that's valid and I gave you an upboat. The guy I replied to meant that you used math and logic to find the value, which you did. I like math and logic more.
sorry lack of sleep and around 500 people spamming instead or replying to original x.x i lost you in the context, and my reply was actually meant in agreement with you and posted towards ^
math alone is useless to support a suggestion in tf2 economy
um...math is not useless in tf2 economy here is a list of reasons why:
1. metal: 3 scrap = 1 rec, 3 rec = 1 ref, which in conclusion 9 scrap is 1 ref, 3x3=9, math
2. metal to keys conversion = 0.5 keys = 8.33 x 0.5 = 4.165 ref, math
3. keys to buds conversion = 0.5 buds = 17 x 0.5 = 8.5 keys, math
4. all price suggetions suggesting the price, those price is either a range from 1 price to another or 1 flat price, those are numbers...........did u learn about theories relating to numbers in humanities class? PE class? biology?
still downvoting cause the suggestion is terrible regarding backpack.tf/rules
quicknote: i dont hate so i didnt downvote ur comment :p

It doesn't matter - You need proof of sales, and for an item like this you need a heck of a lot of sales.
I suggest you close this then read the rules.
there are over 400 + sales a day at that price for keys and using bp.tf suggestion on key price per ref the price i suggested is more accurate
That's not how it works kid.
that is how it works and im not a child thank you, i happen to be 23 and with a damn good grasp of economy regardless of virtual or not
realistically this is where the metal should be, based on prices and exchange.
you cant drop the item used to purchase something lower in price and raise keys without lowing the actual value all you do is inflate it. at the current pricing a key is only worth 1.99 flat at 8,33 ref this price is obsolete by market standards
No kid, that isn't how it works, check the other accepted and closed suggestions for this item, and don't worry you can leave this website now, this post will get closed by a moderator later.
i appreciate your lack of sarcasm and concern, as well as your intriguing stupidity. have fun, and it will close automatically once it has reached enough votes, your idle threats dont scare me and frankly show your true colors, so much hate from a simple common sense suggestion
Exactly how am I threatening you?
This guy is a lost cause.
this 1 guy keeps downvoting everything u say its so funny xD
:3
Just saying but you you can buy a key for 1.9 paypal which is where most traders buy keys from not the scm which is where the price comes from.
current price of ref * current market price of keys via payal they roughly balance out.
the actual key price is based on valve and tf2 economy not third party pay sites full of viruses etc, im basing it off traceable data not third party source, as the economy isnt run by third parties
The market price of keys have always been and always will be determined via paypal trades, especially how SCM is a relatively new thing and paypal trades have been the major source of keys since the beginning of the game and only recently has scm come to play.
Also take note that 5$ steam money doesnt equal 5$ in real life, just like how 5$ in vouchers doesnt mean 5$ which is why the price via paypal is also lower.
the majority of the market doesnt sell via paypal and third party they sell via the market and most of them are ironically the ones voting against the change and i myself dont use third party, i actually like my bank account intact
i do thank you for the info though, and the virtual fund on steam are the same as if you actually paid someone as it all comes out of your wallet to begin with
Steam funds arnt used by most traders because once you put in 10$ in SCM you can't withdraw that 10$. Many players invest quite a bit of money into tf2 because they know they can make a profit and and would like to have the option of cashing out and taking back their earnings at any given time. SCM you cannot do this
Third party sites is where this entire site is based off (OP, r/tf2trade, bazaar, etc), this site is a third party site.
While the SCM is important, recall that the sellers don't get as much as it takes to buy.
Cash trades via Paypal, moneypak, bitcoin, etc are the most important ways to value tf2 items in $$ not by the SCM
Traders who deal with cash like to deal with real world money, money that can be used in the real world. I personally do cash trades and believe me anyone who does will never see SCM equal to real world money which is supposed to be represented by this site.

then you yourself have a good grasp of the actual value and worth, and its not JUST SCM that has a simmilar price for both for keys and ref, i myself dont sell it i simply made the suggestion based of the current pricings and eco
Automated services that charge for convenience & safety isn't that reliable to say they are worth that much.
If you want to see where traders sell for money. There is sourceop, tf2-trader, OP
I've done a metal suggestion before and know how few $ ref sellers are around. And how much trouble you'll have trying to say its worth more when you didnt even get every trader out there linked.

Key got higher demand than metal.
Also, metal isn't available on the SCM - so your key:$ ratio can't really be valid.
Read the rules, you need proof.
demands aside i AM using proof the prices HERE are 8.33 ref for a key 400+ sales a day on market at or ABOVE the price for a key
sets this suggestion in just about the right level
u need proff men :(
my proofs in the description if you cant understand that then please look somewhere else
its common sense, if a key were worth only 8,33 ref that would set its value at less than 2$ they currently sell for almost 3 and a half
this is how a REAL economy works not a prejudiced one
"i am posting this based on simple math"
-downvotes
also using bp.tf's price guide for ref per key
Math < proof.
Is the tf2 economy finally recovering?
*Reads the first sentence*
Fuuuuuck.
?
realistically this is where the metal should be, based on prices and exchange.
you cant drop the item used to purchase something lower in price and raise keys without lowing the actual value all you do is inflate it. at the current pricing a key is only worth 1.99 flat at 8,33 ref this price is obsolete by market standards
Show me one sale at your range.
look
http://i.imgur.com/jarqDxl.jpg
That's a picture of a key on the SCM, I asked for a sale.
same thing as is in the link over 400+ sales
for a key at the price i stated which makes the point of current ref prices moot
if people are selling an item currently priced at 1.99 at a an 8.33 ref conversion using the current pricing, for 2.36
it needs to be updated also basic tf2 economy math and exchange you should know this yourself
Here's your first issue. The suggestion is for Refined Metal. You are talking about *keys*.
You need to find sales of *Refined Metal*. Pointing people towards key sales does nothing to help.
refined metal cannot be bought or sold only traded, hence why i am basing this price on the sale value of keys, AND the current pricing/exchange for ref-key, its not that hard of a concept to understand. although i do completely understand you, however the voters im assuming are competent enough to understand basic math and actually have a good grasp of realistic economy, if they dont then i humbly apologize to them for not explaining it
Refined value is priced in dollars, not keys.
im not suggesting price in keys -.-....
can you read or are you mentally deficient there as well?
If you're not suggesting the price the price in dollars or keys. What the hell is the currency being priced in?
Have you looked at the past accepted suggestions for ref? I only skimmed a couple, but those people found heaps of traders buying ref and keys for actual money.

Mmm, yes, selling.
How many of those have actually sold, though?
i am not an omnipotent god, if i could access sales records for sites i dont own, that are widely used by the community
then I wouldnt be having this convo, i have proof that the price here is outdated using both the info from the market combined with the price BASED on the price of keys converted using the CURRENT price of ref and those two sites,
if ref at its CURRENT price was used to evaluate a key then a key should NOT be worth as much as it is currently at 2.36-2.39 even at reputable retailers it doesnt make sense for ref to be less but keys worth more that would invalidate the point of raising keys to begin with save for third party profit which is just plain greed, it would also mean ref was actually valued at MORE since keys had gone up using the BASIC conversion even other sites provide
Your proof is a picture of a key. How should that be an indication that ref should rise?
Besides the fact that you own 17 of themoh dear god you ARE MORONS do you not see the small pop up? and can you not scroll over the sold graph and hover to see the amount sold and dollar paid, and read the various updates posted throughout?
So, 18 people here are idiots, and you are the smartest?
Teach us your ways so we can be like you o' intelligent one
Seems ok, but alot of people are going to downvote this as maths does not really matter so much in tf2, as you may think it does.
mostly alot will downvote simply from lack of common sense and me not spamming 400+ links, all the proof in the scroll slide on the actual market listing itself and in plain sight on bp.tf i shouldnt have to spell it out for them, the price is not outrageous and is actually fair considering that the current drop puts too much strain on the actual economy and renders the price raise on keys virtually useless
I thought about it and nope
'I'm 23' can't use grammar or spelling
i have large fingers and a very tiny keyboard, im not in the mood for idiot trolls
Large fingers = fail at pressing shift.
Idiot trolls? You're one yourself!
-sighs- if your not contributing to the vote or convo then go somewhere else i have enough hate, Ive also been awake for over 16 hours thanks to insomina and working a 12 hour shift machining calipers and motor parts. all snide comments aside either contribute or leave. im too tired for BS
you could contribute to the vote by adding proof. Thought a 23-year old would understand to read website rules.
