Why do people use link shorteners... it's like the mother of phising links...

Should be a rule to not use shortened links.

Well from a practical point we can no longer tell what the source of the links are; whether outpost, backpack, imgur, some other other image site or a clever phisher with a highjacked account.

No way we can know where the link will take us.
