Suggestion: Mann Co. Supply Crate Key at 8.55–8.66 ref

I'm gathering more proof since now, as I didn't notice there was another pending suggestion when I tried to submit it (http://backpack.tf/vote/id/539c8b324cd7b8c2458b48b2), I've lost some of the links.

Read the rules again. It only applies if you are keeping the low-end and suggesting with a new price, like I did an hour or so ago. Unfortunately I forgot about that rule when creating that suggestion. x_x

I will explain it to you as best as I can. I have to say though how it is written in the rule is a bit confusing but understandable.

I have kept the current low-end. Mine was basically the same range I just added 8.66 in it. Rules says : If you want to keep the current low-end and suggest, you have to wait at least 7 days/1 week to suggest.

All your links are quicksales, and sales are not good counter proof, sellers is better counterproof, as all you're doing here is showing that 8.44 and less is a major quicksale.

The majority of your links sold within a minute or two tops, which is very quick, even for keys.

When you are removing a range you are implying that it is impossible to get it for that price. In this case, he is trying to say that 8.44 is impossible to get, but as you can see from my counter-proof it is very much possible

I can list mine now for 8.77 and sell it either without a bump or within an hour, doesn't mean that its a quicksale. Key is the most wanted in the community thus they get sold quickly at any reasonable price

Yes, I get what you are trying to say (I, myself suggested key prices few times before) but I have to disagree that 8.55 - 8.66 is the most common trading price at this point. 8.44 still happens as you can see and it is as common as 8.55 and 8.66

While looking for proof, I found recent sales at 8.33, even at 8 ref. there's a couple sellers at 8.44 in the suggestion already, same as could find closed buyers for even 9 ref, just a couple however.

But, sa 8.44 are sold quickly, you can still find sales for both 8.55 - 8.66, a few 8.77, and active buyers for the same amount, when is usual to find buyers for less than the usual price to make profit, in this case a scrap or two, that's why the inflation keeps going, both know that already though.

All reasonable key prices get sold quickly either without a bump or within 1 hour. There are no such thing as "quicksales" when it comes to keys.

quicksale means (imo) selling an object at an unusual pricing compared to other higher priced sellers to attract buyers.

What's happening here is that refined, and everything that costs refined, is lowering in price. And we increase the price of everything that actually costs real-world currency, e.g. keys. Because metal is the basest form of currency in TF2. And it's distributed to every single person who plays tf2 in the form of weapons, and rarely, hats. (granted you have to be premium) What this means is that the cost of refined is gradually decreasing because of amount of Refined in existence is rapidly increasing. It's the same thing in as in America right now. The more currency you introduce into the economy, the less value actually has. The difference being in the TF2 economy, is that you have items that you can get by just playing the game, and then you have items that actually cost real world currency. So everything that costs refined, and can be found via random drop or crafting, their price stabilizes. And everything that costs real currency, such as keys, paints, ect. They will continue to increase, because you actually have to use hard currency to obtain those particular items. There's nothing we can do to stop it. It's inflation. Unless something happens and refined becomes harder to obtain, keys and the like will continue to get higher and higher. I still don't quite understand why people say it will crash the economy. The only thing increasing are Keys, really. What can you buy with keys? Bills and Buds, sometimes Max's Heads. But anything higher than that, people rely on buds as the general currency. And every time keys increase in price, both buds, and bills lower in price to essentially balance it all out. making it no harder to trade your way up.

I'm sure someone could polish this explanation of TF2's rapidly changing economy, but I'm too lazy to do so. So there's my view on the whole process.

You are actually right with your explanation. It is funny though, last time I checked, if you add together all refined, reclaimed and scrap metal together, and divide it by the number of keys in the game, it comes out to roughly 2.7 ref per key. I am not suggesting that be the price, but it is the truth. However, cash market determines the price of things, not necessarily the amount of metal available.

The only way to get them is through the TF2 store at 2.50$ USD. Regardless of what they go for on the Steam Community Market, people still have to get them from the store.

This price almost feels to me like a tipping point. Sure I did sell a few keys for 8.66 during this week but not nearly as quick as I expected. There was probably more profit to be made on items that didn't get their price corrected in a while. Not voting this time.

8.44 still happens too much on a regular basis to be ignored, i still find it perfectly fine to buy for 8.44 refs. staying neutral on this

In-game in servers you can find easily sellers for 8.33-8.55 ref each, but in other hand I have to admit that the price range is pretty much quicksale online, you can even sell quickly at 8.66 ref :)

Still just repeating what tried to demonstrate above, any key near 8.44 is sold quickly, possible/quicksell or not, takes a while to find an active seller for 8.44 - 8.55, by that the suggested range becomes more common, with the actual amount of keys not everyone will track the tf2economy by the same way, there will be always someone that would sell them for less same as a few that you left in your counter-proof for 8, as others that bought them even for 9... You could see this kind of cases when they were worth less, since keys started going at ~8

There are already buyers for more than the actual price, when although they help to make the inflation going up just for a few metal profit, is not hard to sell keys for 8.66, not at all, of course, the cheaper, the quicker.

Something happened with trade.tf... apparently.

Just to let you know...I suggested key prices two times before both times when there is a rise, there was a huge decrease in number of sales/sellers for the low-end.

Here now, I don't see any decrease in 8.44 ref sellers at all. Also, I have said it many times...Key will sell fast at any reasonable price.

Finally, I never go into full searching mode until or unless I see fault in the suggestion.

there are no contradiction between two sentences "keys are rising" and "refs are dropping". Consumer ability of keys grew up during this 1.5 years, and that is the evidence of rising of their value. Refs, consequently went down. You should keep this in mind before blaming somebody.

Did anybody ever think of this however...? What if Ref hits rock bottom price hmm? You're all going to start slicing pennies in half and saying that ref is now 0.5 cents.

First of all, people will ignore Backpack.tf prices if they are inaccurate to current prices. If you do not believe me, try buying/selling an unusual sometime. The same thing goes for keys. The market move so fast, and there are so many items, that sometimes, it is impossible for Backpack.tf to keep up. Thus, you get inaccurate prices.

Second of all, do not try to apply store prices to 'trader prices'. Let's take your Tour of Duty ticket. Supposedly, it costs one dollar in the store, and is worth 3.33 Ref. Those prices do not match up, actually, because 3.33 refined is 82 cents, not one dollar, so your argument is invalid.

Third of all, keeping it at one price is manipulation. This site's job is to show accurate prices, no matter what. Don't like the price of keys? Find counterproof. Don't have any? Well, then, someone's in the wrong here, and it isn't the man with over 30 links of proof.

Case closed.

Here's a fun fact:

If every month there is a steady raise of the of the key price by 0.33 ref, in 64 YEARS refined metal will have 0.01$ value.

(Logic: Keys are affected by refined value, if the ref price on keys goes up, the $ value of ref goes down; keys must become 250 refined for the ref to be worthless.)

you don't actually need logic for this one; just look at the key raise, every week there it's going up with some scrap. I just used the logic part to show what I meant.

Ive bought a decent amount at 8, but those are ducksales, so ya.

Then start mass selling your keys at 2.66 ref and tell all your friends to do so as well! That'll drop the price of keys. Or you could tell Valve to make ref useful, due to the fact that the price of keys is influenced by ref. Honestly, this suggestion has proof at the high and low end and keys on tf2 finance are selling for 8.57 ref on average, showing that the current price is selling above bp.tf suggested range. All i can say is that if you and ALL the people who are against the price of keys rising in refined metal, sell your keys LOWER then if you're that much against the increase in price. Otherwise, this suggestion shows that people on outpost are selling higher that bp.tf suggested price as well as tf2 finance stating this as well. This suggestion has my upvote, not based on bias of any kind, but due to the sufficient proof provided.

http://scrap.tf/keys is selling keys for 8.44 each, and each time there comes even one key it gets instantly sold (I dont have quick computer enough to buy these quick enough). Its 99% of the time out of the stock.

I was thinking this also, but I think it might be to do something of those accusations that scrap.tf would control the key market and thats why they wont update key prices? Dont know if its the truth.

scrap.tf and bots are the major key buyers sellers on the game.as long as ppl trade them keys will only rise. every time they restock.

Today I've sold 16 keys for 8.77 ref each, so I guess this suggestion is reasonable. Up-vote.
