It's also themed because Samurai are from Japan and Japan is the land of the rising sun and sunbeams come from the sun therefore this hat is Japan and Japan is where Samurai come from. Or something like that at least.

The hat has a moon shape fastened on the front; one may simply think that this is a blatant connection to the Japanese and that it is analogous to the hats worn by the Japanese army generals. However, the Samur-Eye more importantly represents the tranquillity and composure of our lives. This crescent located on the front of the hat has both a literal and philosophical connection with the sun. To begin with, it is the literal representation of the celestial objects in the solar system. The moon and sun both appear to be in the sky, and both are located outside of Earth and in the Milky Way. The sun, as we all know, is at the center of the solar system. It is not the only bright object, however. The moon is another mysterious object in our solar system that is in synchronous rotation with Earth, always showing the same face with its near side marked by dark volcanic maria that fill between the bright ancient crustal highlands and the prominent impact craters. It is the most luminous object in the sky after the sun, making the sun and the moon the two brightest objects in our solar system. However, in addition to this connection or 'theme', the crescent moon represents the light inside each and every one of us. We do not have the light emitters in us, but rather we have the light reflectors in us - hence, moons instead of suns. The moons inside of us reflect the personalities and lifestyles that surround us and present in our daily lives; these 'reflections' can be symbolized in reflected sunbeams emitting off from our bodies. Thus, the Samur-Eye hat has both a physical and philosophical theme or connection to sun rays.

Also, "Land of the Rising Sun" was in fact the proclaimed national anthem of the secessionist African state of Biafra, in south-eastern Nigeria. The tune was adopted from Sibelius' "Finlandia", and written by Nnam di Azikiwe. "Land of the Rising Sun" is also a name of Japan, and the Biafran anthem should not be confused with Japan's own national anthem, "Kimigayo".

Thus, the Samur-Eye should not only be connected to Japan, but should also be compared with the African state of Biafra.

This hat looks like one worn by a famous samurai called Masamune Date

There's a statue of him in Sendai (Japan) -> http://i.imgur.com/bBbvzlj.jpg

He's wearing the same Kabuto as this hat.

Yeah I know. I was just explaining the clearly obvious and not-forced theme.

It's also themed because Samurai are from Earth and Earth revolves around the sun.

It's also themed cause samari helmets are very shiny.
