also its retired (no longer unboxable in unusual form)

If you got some of the first crates, you can still unbox them according to their description. Tell me if I am wrong ;)

They are unboxable, but just as normal hats.. You can no longer get them in Unusual, of any effect http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Fancy_Fedora January 25, 2013 [Item schema update]

The Fancy Fedora was removed from the item drop system and Mann Co. Store, and can no longer be uncrated with Unusual quality or crafted. Crates with the possibility to get the hat are unboxed in normal quality. [1]

I assumed they were unboxable when the crate says it can contain a 1st generation unusual, but they mean effect then?

          Thank you for replying :D

            No problem :)

Too big a range, and were both fedoras clean?

I feel like 7 to 10.5 is too large of a range.

If this was item overpay high end or a quick sale pure low end I would agree, but both sales are in pure and valid in my eyes. The one bought for ~7 had a b/o of 8 but if he accepts the offer it doesn't really matter.

Whilst I dislike big ranges on hats worth less than 10 buds, this isn't the biggest range I've ever seen.

Then 10.5 would be an outlier.

If someone can get 10.5 pure for a 1st gen unusual and all the other sellers seem to want closer to 10.5 than 7 i think if anything 7 would be the outlier. Though. I think with the recent sale at ~7 it was possible very recently to get it for that price, but at least nimbusrider and squirtle want around ~10 and the other sellers want pure offers or only cash offers.

There are offers in keys (110) at the time ~7 buds rejected on squirtles trade and similar offers all around. I think this range is close enough to the market (maybe not the 7) that it is fine as is.

Well as you said there are b/os of 8 and sales at 7, so 10.5 is obviously an outlier.

There are 4 for sale at the current time, Nimbus clearly states he won't take less than 10.5 and squirtle is looking for a decent amount too. The other 2 sellers are open to offers, one for pure only and one for cash only. Looking at the current market and offers, 10.5 is not an outlier. As I said, if anything 7 is the outlier but i was being conservative by keeping it in the range. Let's let the mods look at it and decide but the sales are both valid (not item overpay / QS).

Edit: It should be noted that all but the cash traders fedora are in sets, all seem willing to split the sets though.

I'm the one who sold the sunbeams fedora for 10.5 pure. The hat was clean but I do say that the price range is too big. Perhaps an increase to 8-8.5 buds?

We have to base the range off sales / unsold b/os and such, If i could I would just pick the mean of this range as the flat price.

I owned one but it was duped, here it is anyways.

Sold for http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/20104769#latest + Peace tossle + Peace trophy + Vivid fancy fedora

Just from that it is roughly ~8.5 buds, without looking at how outdated everything is and taking the rocket at 1 bud then using mid points for each hat. This either supports the range (even though its a dupe) or it should be the minimum rather than 7. I'm going to ask a mod what is the next best move from here.

For a duped unusual it was sold for more than the current price indicating that people are willing to pay more for this unusual.

Also take a look at my old sunbeams fedora trade:

              http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/18800929#latest

Several extremely high in price unusual and mixed offers.

Burning Glenngary Bonnet + 3 buds (8.5 buds)

Power Surge Brown Bomber (7 buds)

Disco Beatdown Cold Killer + 1 buds (10.3 buds)

              Miami Nights Samur-Eye +1 buds (6.8 buds)

              Orbiting Planet Crone's Dome + 3 buds (7.3 buds)

Sunbeams Le Party Phantom + 1 buds (8.5 buds)

Roboactive Pot and Purple Energy Marauder (9.7 buds)

Aces Costa Nostra + Ghosts Billycock (6.9 buds)

Planets sniper set (Your Worst Nightmare - Yellow Belt - Villain's Veil) [7.5 buds]

Aces High Killer Exclusive (8 buds)

Knife Storm Modest Pile of Hats (11.5 buds)

Please note that these offers are in order from which I received them. Please also note that I did not accept any of these offers even the extremely high ones since I acquire hats to wear rather than for profit and in the end that worked in favour for me by being able to sell the fedora at 10.5 buds.

I think (and NecroTed) that we need a mod to look at this and decide as I am stuck on what to do here. 7 flat is far too low, with offers above ~7 and despite a recent sale for one (took 1 week to sell with a b/o of 8, settled for 7). 10.5 seems like a big bump with this much uncertainty and no consistent offers at 10+ (there are a few but not a lot.) lastly the 8.5 sale was in items (haven't verified details) but it was for a dupe hat (which we aren't meant to use I think).

There are seemingly 2 valid sales in pure and one item sale with a duped hat.

Until another sale/ a mod telling me I can use the dupe sale as a low end / closing this telling me to resuggest, I don't intend on changing anything.

              http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/20621885 had b/o 8

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/20522134 would have taken less than 7 pure, sold for 6.5

              10.5 is definitely an outlier

                B/o of 7, Qs in 2 days

                B/o of 8 closed in 1 week.

I think 7 is an outlier but I might make the range 8-8.5 based off the duped sale.

Let me know what you think.

On your 10.5 pure sale. http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/18800929

                Offers he would have taken:

                Beams milkman + 4 ~9

                http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/19560246 - 7 pure

                http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/20621885 - 6.7 pure

                http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/20522134 - 7 pure

I mean, all of the most recent clean sales except the sale at 10.5 were at 6.5-7 in pure. The person who paid it, Noir, notoriously overpays in pure. He is the one who offered more than 1k more than anyone else on the first golden pan. I think it's an outlier.

Votes are mixed at best. Offers in 1st gens peak at ~8 after overpay.

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/20843548 - this clean seller would have taken 7 pure, it seems, 3 weeks ago.

A wouldn't be opposed to a range of 7-8 given the offers. But 10.5 just looks like a huge outlier when the seller was willing to sell for 9 in mixed in his own trade.
