Any idea why this spikes so much every now and then?

It only spiked once, because someone found the supply rather lacking, and a fair amount of demand. With so few sales/sellers/buyers/listings in general, he managed to get a bunch of high-priced trades and legitimately point to those as the main price. Thus, the seemingly uncalled-for 3-6 refined raise.

my guess would be, that it spiked in value after it was possible to always have this in the action slot, while still being able to equip taunts at the same time.

You have only 3 sellers at 5 ref, all of them coming from classifieds, and one was sold already, should 5 remain in range?

Your proof at 5 and 6 is poor. 7 Flat should be better imo.

If 5 is already in the range, why does it have to prove it? He's lowing the high end, not lowing the low end.

He's still suggesting a low-end at 5 ref, and as you can see, there's basically none at that price

Claims don't mean anything, you need proof. I could have claimed that I've sold 100 of these Canteens for 1 ref each, but without proof, my claim means nothing.

At the very least he sold two of the eight he put up on the trade. They're not in his bp.

Again, proof of sale is needed. Just because two of the canteens aren't in his backpack doesn't necessarily mean he sold them. He could have given them away. Likely, no. Possible, yes. I need proof before I can believe you.

Okay, the new price says from 5 to 7 refined. Originally tried to sell the canteens for a key like any normal price-spike opportunist when it went official. Had a person interested in buying it, but I was away and couldn't complete the trade.

I lowered the price to 6 refined and to nobody's surprise, sold 4 in almost a day.
