I would like to point out that since there is over 20,000 trades on outpost alone involving keys the proof we are being show here is not a lot.

Not sarcastically though, (at the time of this writing) only 3/20 of the trades on the first page of my search were trades selling keys. So there are actually probably only 3,000 trades on outpost selling keys.

Also, if you feel we don't have enough proof because of how many trades for keys there are out there, go ahead and check all 3,000 of those trades selling keys. Chances are they will either match the proof here or will be all but ignored by traders for having bad prices.

I put some of my keys up for 8 refined to test the trading market for keys and it's definitely a quick sell. (I sold like 5 In minutes before I closed the trade, which is why it's not apart of the range)

The only reason people aren't buying them at 8.22 is because they're decreasing suddenly... A week ago, a key selling for 8.22 would have gone within seconds, heck even a key for 8.33 would have sold immediately. People know the prices are going down, and panicking, trying to sell their keys fast so as to not lose any profit.

Yeah, the cooldown needs to be longer. Otherwise it's a chain fucking reaction, everyone scrambles to sell. Another example of backpack.tf crashing the market.

Generally, price is dropping, so more people suddenly want to get rid of their keys before they drop even more, and, being an impatient lot, they want to do it quickly, dropping the price even more :) You can already see more and more 8 ref trades even with the general amount of 8.11 sellers (and the fact that their keys go within minutes). So my bet is 7 or even 6 - depends on when someone will decide to go smart ans starts hoarding them (or goes on an unboxing frenzy).

Yesterday I managed to buy 2 keys for 8,11 each from 2 diffrent users.

keys are tools, you open crates with them. You almost, and I say that as 99+++% of the time, always get something worth 2.33 ref tops. I don't get why this item has rises so much from 3 ref... perhaps it was to be used as a currency. Maybe there will be a new currency? just sayin, thought of this.... no need to dislike it because you have lotta keys.....

Because many people unbox, it is the the only 100% stable currency (unless valve is stupid enough to give keys a sale crashing their entire economy). Tf2 keys are always 2.50 from the store and where all keys have originated its also used to buy games and its used in all other steam economies as well

Will there ever be a set price for the keys? People always sell for a scrap lower or higher depending on the arrow direction.

not always. as you can see arrow is sometimes up and sometimes down but i wish there is a way to suggest key values in dolar like refined so it can be more stabilized rate between ref/key.

The price of a key is not based down to the value of what it can unbox, it is all based on the prices that people are willing to pay for said item.

I've managed to sell like 3 keys for 8.22 to different users, but I most likely got lucky, or they just needed a quick key. Whenever people look at the new price, they know they can find it 1 scrap cheaper than the current price somewhere, and so the price lowers. I wonder what will stop it?

I love cheap stuffs, but it seems like the key pimps are controlling the key price too easily.

As I said so many times, bots aren't useful for the 90% of the suggestions, especially for the tools, like the Key. It's very simply, because you can create 10 bots, another guy 25 bots, and another guy 65 bots, all with different names, so, you get 100 bots selling for "x" price, 100 trades, but all the 100 trades come from 3 guys, and that isn't valid.

I would like to point out that since there is over 20,000 trades on outpost alone involving keys the proof we are being show here is not a lot.

Then go and list 10000 outpost links in a new suggestion.

That's not even close to being true. There are around 20 pages with key trades wanting metal, 50 trades per page. That comes out to 1000 with 100-200 being inactive, poorly bumped, alot more being bots and so on. Get your facts straight before you start complaining.

You can view 20 pages, but there's much more.

At least people are showing proof unlike the last vote that someone tried to do. I think since the steam summer sale people spent all of their money on that and not on keys therefore the lack of keys being traded. Also i think people are starting to realize un boxing its not the same high people get anymore. I saw someone un box old weapon crate's and he was not pleased lol.So this get's a yes vote.

My trade is up there in the "Unsold at 8.22" area. I don't know how you determine solds and unsolds, I have hundreds of keys.

well, this is a first, it is now better to sell your keys on the community market for ~$2.50 now that they are worth $1.99

While they most certainly need a drop, my only concern is the lack of range. I put up a buying trade and bought about 8 keys in a few hours for 8 ref. I'm not sure but 8 may need to be included in the range

This suggestion was up when 8 ref was too fast to consider use, since the suggestion has been up the market has changed very fast. I will have to acquire enough proof for 8 ref first and then I may consider posting a new suggestion on the item.
