Not too sure if I did it right. Just going off of the recently passed suggestion.
Im just going to tell you, if you check the histories on a bunch of those, the ambassadors are in other bps, and these people have multiple in their bp. downvote
Also there are over 16 pages of ambassadors on outpost
Item histories for low items like these are not reliable because they get traded a whole lot, they get crafted, they get deleted and whatnot. Thus, items histories for low value such as this are not reliable at all.
When the only "proof" is a guy not closing the trade when these items sell so often, then why are we lowering the price?
The point of this suggestion is that they don't sell often, otherwise there wouldn't be year+ unsolds.
the year + unsolds have either sold, or the person hasnt been online in months
If the user hasn't been online in months, then the trade would have already expired.
Autobumps, anyone?
I got a dislike, is that because autobumps doesn't keep the trade open? I'd really like someone to tell me that then
(there are some premium ambassador sellers on Outpost, so this is relevant)
It is entirely normal practice for weapons traders to leave trades open for very long periods. They do not create a new trade every time they sell a weapon, that would be ridiculous.
I can't think of a bigger waste of time than looking for unsold weapons trades, but to demonstrate the flaw in your thinking look at the 8 month and 1 year old trades in your original post. Both are clearly weapons trader posts with thousands of views and both the weapons you say are unsold are no longer present in their BP's:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/16325480 8 month (I just don't.... never mind)
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10466311 1 year (...)
(Obtain the weapon's original ID from the outpost trade and compare with original ID in the history for all current ambassadors in the bp using outpost or bp.tf).
You cannot simply look at the history of an item within a trade on Outpost, see no further owners and assume the item is still in the users bp. All that would prove is that the item has not been seen by Outpost in any other bp.
To attempt to deny that basic weapons don't regularly sell for 1 scrap each is to deny the existence of the countless long-standing and active weapons traders on Outpost and would further deny that the most basic of trading-for-profit opportunities exists.
This weapon, along with almost every other standard weapon in the game, is 'worth' 0.5 scrap but often sells for 1 scrap therefore the current range is correct.
So, your saying that every single buyer who bought an ambassador doesn't use outpost? Wouldn't it be easier to assume that they scrapped it thus valuing it at half of a scrap?
I'm not saying anything of the sort. I'm explaining why your method for determining that items still exist in the trade owners bp, and therefore the proof used in your suggestion, is demonstrably flawed. Furthermore I stated how to determine beyond doubt if an item still exists in the owners backpack.
The apparent exasperation shown in your comments next to the links in your suggestion shows that you don't understand that it is normal practice for weapons traders (or anyone selling multiples of an item) to create a trade and leave it open for long periods, particularly when heavily bookmarked.
More to the point however, you are ignoring the fact that many of the trades involved in your proof are obviously weapons traders (clearly stated in some cases) some of whom currently have many multiples of the same weapon. Your suggestion implies that a weapons trader sells no ambassadors (the most popular secondary weapon for the spy) for the widely accepted price of 1 scrap per weapon, simply because the single item used to create the trade may (or may not, as demonstrated) still have that item in their bp. Including such evidence is folly.
To Demonstrate (something I said I wasn't going to do, but since your response was so...)
Here are the FIRST 10 of your 'proofs' revisited:
Definition of a Weapons Trader: Multiple weapons trades open for long periods
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/21613258 - Closed - No longer in bp
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/21840853 - Weapons Trader -
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/21537713 - Weapons Trader - No longer in BP
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/21837528 - Weapons Trader - Multiple ambassadors
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/21860146 - Weapons Trader -
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/16099937 - Weapons Trader - No longer in BP
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/21829369 - Weapons Trader - No longer in BP
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/21086872 - Weapons Trader - Multiple Ambassadors - No longer in BP
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/21946318 - Weapons Trader -
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/21811082 - Weapons Trader - Multiple Ambassadors - No longer in BP
6 of those 10 no longer have the item in the bp are therefore counter-proof.
9 of those 10 are weapons traders, 3 of which have multiple ambassadors in their BP.
only 4 of those 10 still have the item listed in their trade in their BP. All of whom can be regarded as weapons traders.
That's all the time I'm going to waste on countering this flawed suggestion.

For those blindly +voting the above post....
RedParadox's proof is based on clicking the item in the trade and looking at the item history on Outpost to determine if it has a new owner. This is no proof AT ALL as demonstrated below.
I visited the FIRST 15 of the trades in the post above and the results are as follows:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/21375488 - No longer in BP - Closed - Outpost shows new owner
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/21932074 - Still present
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/21872078 - No longer in BP - Outpost shows new owner

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/21576631 - Still present - 3 others in bp

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/20116609 - No longer in BP - 2 others are - Outpost shows NO new owner
9 of the 15 are no longer in the bp.
TF2Outpost, along with all other BP viewers, will only update the owner history when a backpack is viewed via the site and a new owner observed.
This suggestion is attempting to prove that this weapon does not sell for 1 scrap each and it fails to do so.
http://www.trade.tf/price/61/6/None
Found this nice little graph from KoDoRiN's past suggestion, seems they sell for 0.06, which I guess would be 0.05, don't see why not drop price. upvote
Upvote :D >.^
You need sellers/solds at your suggested price, not just unsolds at the current price. A single seller isn't going to cut it.
http://backpack.tf/vote/id/53ea65ac4cd7b8823c8b45e9 Passed with no .05 unsolds
I'm honestly just going off of that.
Lol, these people asking for 0.05 ref sellers again. How can you prove for any weapon that there are sellers for 0.05 ref, when everybody is posting ads for ANY weapon for no less than 1 scrap? I'm so glad I started a topic on the forums:
http://forums.backpack.tf/index.php?/topic/14320-suggestion-question-rescue-ranger-005-011-ref-a-delicious-cashew/
Just have a look at the post before the last one. So it's already settled - when lowering the price of weapons, unsolds at 1 scrap are enough proof!
Exactly. As somebody who trades weapons that are in more demand than others (sticky/rocket jumpers, market gardeners, ambys, loose cannons, etc), the whole key to this is how many times I have to restock and typically how hard is it to get when I restock (scrap.tf). While the rescue ranger was somewhat justified, the ambassadors still sell at a good clip and are typically sold out on scrap.tf. The listing of the baby face blaster going down has no relevance to this as that was a weapon that was hyped to craft the new weapons when they came out (back scatter, air strike, etc). The range is fine as it is right now for ambassadors.
I agree with you, because I also think that spy and sniper weapons are still pretty hard to find at the scrapbanking sites, not sure why people like them so much.
You flip weapons for a ~1 cent profit apiece? How can that possibly be worth your time?
Yeah, I do it, but it really requires very little time. If I'm already doing other trades during that time, it doesn't hurt me to click accept on incoming trade offers. Acquiring a stock of weapons is also pretty easy. Its more of a hobby I guess than anything, I really don't care about the profit from it.
How on earth did this even get hype?
Someone might want to work on the Short Circuit too.
There was no hype. This weapon is correctly priced at 0.05-0.11. As with almost every other basic weapon in the game, you can find them on scrap-banking sites for 1 weapon and everywhere else for 1 scrap.
Common weapon, you can get them easily for .5 scrap at scap.tf or scrapwh.tf. The time of buying/selling weapons for a scrap is pretty much over.
People should use their Vintage Amby instead.
Wtf are these suggestions for? You guys wanna pose an epic change to the system or something?
People buy weps for 1 scrap per 2 weps.
People sell weps for 1 scrap each.
Also known as scrapbanking...
Been like this F_O_R_E_V_E_R.
0.05 - 0.11 is the perfect price for most normal weapons.
Stop.
