Someone offered this hat + 10 keys + a lime painted bills for my max's head so I was checking out the price and noticed the bp.tf price was a little higher than what it's (not) selling for

They aren't selling. The backpack.tf price likely has something to do with the fact that they aren't selling. Many people have listed buyouts at 3.4-3.5, which is below the current bp.tf price so at the very least they should be lowered to that.

What if I accepted or provided proof of the offer that I received? Would that satisfy you?

He offered this hat and 16 keys, 10 pure and 6 in the form of a Bill's hat for my hat worth 3.3 buds.

3.3 * 19 = 62.7 keys. Let's just say 62.

62 - 10 pure - 6 bill's leaves me with 46 keys. That's 2.4 buds.

So honestly I think this hat is worth even less than what I suggested but I didn't want to knock off close to 50% of the value with one suggestion

bptf is a bloody mess as it is. If we start pricing stuff off offers, it will be pretty much a chaos.

which is exactly why i chose the lowest buyout I could find and not what he offered. the offer i received valued this hat at 0.5 buds less than what I've suggested

One of those is a quicksell price and the other is the exact same one that was offered to me 2 days ago for about 2.4 buds. (this hat + 10 keys + bills for unduped max's hat) Both of those prices are even lower than what I've suggested here.

It seems to me like you should bookmark all the sellers then, and wait for at least one to get sold (or maybe 2, since it's a summer 2013 effect).

Also, where does 3 buds come from?

I chose the price 3 because one of the current trades on outpost has a buyout of 2.9 buds (55 keys) and hasn't sold in 3 weeks. If it was truly worth 4-4.3 like bp.tf suggests I think it would have sold by now. Honestly I think it's worth even less than 2.9 but I just went with the lowest buyout I could find.

One has been sitting at the bottom of bp.tf price ( 4 buds ) for 3 months now and there are several more with buyouts more than 0.5 buds lower than that including one at 2.9 buds which has been up for 3 weeks. There is a reason they aren't selling at those prices.
