So hard to sell
death to miami death to aces death to dead pres. WHY DOES THESE EFFECTZ NEED TO DIE!! :c
Because they're saturating the market, and people keep using the outdated, over-inflated bp.tf prices as an excuse to throws lowballs around on your trades.
Godspeed, welcome aboard the crusade, Conie XD
because (the first) unboxers highballed them, people paid a lot because they liked them.
noobs then unboxed a lot of 'em,and sold for cheap = price-go-down
simple. if people were steady, and would never maker low b/o-s / accept low offers. things wouldn't go that bad
i don't play tf2 and don't mind keeping a hat for months, and people who do play are keen to get rid of them.... logic
You say sold-for-cheap like they were willing to.
It's basic economics. Supply is greatly exceeding demand, and therefore cost is decreasing.
i cri eritiem. xD
"You say sold-for-cheap like they were willing to."
"buys key"
"unboxes crate"
"miami tc :OoOoOoOoOoO"
tries sell for 2 buds under bp.tf
can't sell ofc/ accepts new effects / does sell (but is limited by b/o) or sold for lower
can't sell = lowers price
accepts new effects(which went down in price since the trade was made) = lowers price
and in the last scenario it also goes down hue
if the "suppliers" wouldn't rush, there wouldn't be an issue
It's not about rushing. Like I said, basic economics.
When there's competition between multiple vendors of the same item, each vendor, in an attempt to make their product more appealing, will undercut the price of the other vendor in order to attract purchase.
For example, If my Miami TC is on the Market for 10 buds, and someone puts one up for 9.5, which will you buy? The 9.5 one. So I'll lower my price to 9 to attract you back.
This strongly effects 3rd Gens because the market is 'saturated' with them. As in, there's so many on the market, so many vendors trying to undercut one another, than the price drops much faster than another similar item.
The opposite is true for rare items. If you have multiple buyers attracted to one vendor, they will outbid one another, and the vendor can increase their price without fear of competition.
There's a basic economics lesson for you.
Please don't make sweeping, misleading statements that aren't really true ;_;
that's what's interesting. i had times when my unusual sold for more than some other b/o-s on the market
example is my steaming cowl some time my ago> for 22 keys. even thothere was a guy selling for 1 bud (buds were 17)
but the guy who paid that, wanted the hat. no doubt about it.
anyhow.
"new unusual gets priced at 10 buds"
guy who bought it sells for 10 buds
guy unboxes = can easily put any price he wants, because he got it basically free. he doesn't care about the guy that actually invested money into it.
that's the issue
and it's still isn't reasonable to put a dbd splitter with a b/o of 8
And yet you're the only one that thinks that, because it passed.
This comes down to you needing to admit you have a personal liking for third gens.
If you sold for more than another's B/O, your buyer did not do any research. In the case of a 1 bud hat I'm not surprised.
Unboxers will follow the market because they want to maximise the profit.
If he priced it low, it will sell quickly to someone who will put it up for full price, and the quicksell is not valid evidence for a suggestion.
Your arguments are noise.
i don't like for people to lose money,on stuff they liked and wanted.
even tho i don't play tf2,i have a heart yunno.
People who buy third gens should expect to lose money by now.
Anyone still falling for that old pitfall, I have no pity for.
The Ad Hominem Tu Quoque was unnecessary, too.
that's how i feel about it tho.
seemed necessary
I'm impressed, at least, that you understand what Ad Hominem Tu Quoque means.
you imply that a guy who killed people also likes other guys who kill people <.<
fact that i profit and judge others isn't hypocrititical.
fact that someone plays tf2 yet cares more about profit than looks is hypocritical.
You, didn't understand what it means, you dumped it straight into a translator -_-
It's known as the 'you too' fallacy. Attempting to undermine an individual's argument by referring to a personal flaw of theirs.
For example here, you ignore all of my water-tight arguments on why 3rd gens are dropping by implying I'm heartless for making said arguments.
I don't care about profit and I can prove it: http://backpack.tf/vote/id/53f0abfa4fd7b85f288b46a9
I care about prices, being, accurate. Which generally means chopping half the value off third gens.
If your personal preference, your personal liking of 3rd gens, leads you to defend them when you shouldn't be, maybe you need to reconsider your role on this site.
sigh... i'll try to save any hat
fact that 3rd gens fall more than others is not my fault.
edit:and you silly. it's like you take the latin your learned in school and say as it is.
i made a clear example.
i am someone who profits and hate others who profit (and lower prices of unusuals) yet play tf2
i am so good, that i always sell my unusuals at or near bp.tf price.
but my sales become unusable when some guy just slaps a b/o on his hat which is lower than the sales
nice discussion guys. i cant manage to read it all. Well what about effects like spellbound? thats a new effect but damn its high tier!
Was limited unbox, ergo the market's not saturated.
As applies to all halloween effects.
Oh i get it now xD thanks!
I swear I'm gonna start teaching basic economics on the forums or something soon XD
but wait effects like flaming lantern and eerie and c bubbles which are the first haloween effects arent more than mid tier. Though the 2nd gen haloweens seems to top (stormy 13th cmoon harvest moon) lolwut
because moons look good lol
eerie fire and c. bubbles are just repaints of o.fire and bubbles
Moons are overpriced Stormy's.
but are rarer + have some... difference from stormy's
anything slapped with a skull will be worth more
Sure, but they're so overrated and overpriced it's not even funny.
