not sure how hype failed, :< it rose a bunch and now the hype is dying down like it always does

Speaking as the person who first raised and lowered the B.M.O.C. this go around, I find your statement false. A failed hype is not determined by the amount it went up to, but rather the occurrence of large amounts of spending based solely on potential gains. I knew the B.M.O.C. wasn't going to dramatically rise over 13-14 keys because a lot of the people that had been hoarding them, or simply viewed the data over the past 2 years could easily know that the price would eventually lower again. Therefore when the "hype" started, (if you want to call it that, not going to delve more technical into why it shouldn't be called that) there were a considerable amount of people that did not care to hedge their bets as they had done in previous years and started listing their B.M.O.C.s for sale at a price that would bring them a profit. To put this in perspective, when I first made my suggestion raising B.M.O.C.s roughly 2 weeks ago, there were only 7 pages on Outpost and most were simply old trades with high buyouts or in sets that never actually sold, but after the first suggestion passed, the pages spiked to an upwards past 16 pages by the end of that first week. Which leads into my final point that it wasn't so much a failed "hype", as an increase in supply, and since there's only so many people that are willing to buy B.M.O.C.s when they've been rising for a while, you're left with a lot on the market still competing to sell which is when the price lowering occurs as people's fears of prices lowering causes them to actually drop their price.
