Only one sale after it became misc.
Sold with c.bubbles pencil (7.1) for a spellbound kabuto (12.6) ~ 5.5 buds pure:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/21080097
hmm shouldn't ghosts be higher tier than c. bubbles ? :P
if only it had another sale, damn <.<
Eh, not necessary. Here's an example: http://backpack.tf/unusuals/Desert%20Marauder
Even c.bubbles TC is higher than ghosts TC in terms of value.
yea,but on both cases there are more ghosts than bubbles(14>4 and 11>3) where as here 1 less ghosts pencil exists
edit: not to say the bubbles TC has a 2 year old price
There are plenty of other unusuals in which c.bubbles is higher than ghosts, these are just two examples, and if we're gonna go through every single one of them and argue about which tier is higher, it isn't going to get us anywhere. There are some scorching hats with higher value than burning, even though burning is generally "higher" tier. For example:
http://backpack.tf/unusuals/Blighted%20Beak - scorching beak (17 buds, 32 in existence) vs burning beak (13.8, 28)
The example above already shows that number in existence doesn't necessarily affect it's price.
Though I don't see how is any of this relevant to the suggestion. We're not talking about a huge difference in tier, such as steaming is higher than burning etc.etc.
but that's scorching vs burning. they are always around the same
c. bubbles is glorified bubbles. ghosts is an original effect. only reason for bubbles to be higher is rarity.
So your argument that just because one is an original effect, and the other is a Halloween effect, means the price of ghost must always be higher? Do not forget, that you're assuming that the "only reason for bubbles to be higher is rarity". As a suggestor this site, you should know that assumptions does not play a role in unusual suggestions. This is getting nowhere, so I'm just going to stop commenting here until a counter proof arises.
as a suggestor on this site you should know sometimes use of logic is necessary. and feel of tiers too.
as long as this is the only sale,i just can't stop feeling it's an outlier.
You're talking about logic? Well then, let's talk logic and have a look at some of the notable offers:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/21080097
- 6 buds (collecting, invalid)
- 5 buds pure
- roboactive fuka (5)
- burning modest if hearts and c.bubbles is added (4)
Instead of your "necessary" use of "logic", provide counter proof, not mere assumptions. You're no different from ppl who claim that "keys costs 2.50 USD in Mann co store, so ref must be 30 cents, because "logic"."
Also, tell me again how this is an outlier, when it's the only sale available? Or you'd prefer it at 1.5-1.7 buds which even more outdated? Or what about suggestions like the burning rack, which had a price of 15-17 buds right after it became a misc, but no one said 15 was an outlier (even though it clearly was), until a few weeks later when the price changed to 19-20 buds?
those are all just offers. <.<
edit: but i didn't think of something else.
maybe just the cauldron was priced too high.
but only time will tell. i need to side with you, this conversation was pointless.
Better than assumptions without counter proof.

...This does not mean that offers are not valid proof. They are very useful for defining a range and identifying outliers (see section below). Sales need to be provided to support your suggested range.
Uh...Spellbound Kabuto is 17 according to bp.tf: http://backpack.tf/stats/Unusual/Killer%27s%20Kabuto/Tradable/Craftable/74
Edit: Oh wait, nevermind, saw you did a new suggestion on it.
...I'm starting to regret that trade :/ Eh, It's 1 of 1, will probably go back up in value if I sit on it long enough :P
Well, suggestion looks good then :)
Sorry about that, nothing personal :/
But yeah, 1 of 1, most probably have the potential for it to rise again later on.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/22045249 - looks like redpoemage did the offering first and no overpay should be applied to any of the hats involved.
Redpoemage offered the antifreeze pusher which Zenzile did not accept. Later on, Zenzile added redpoemage to propose a totally new offer here: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/21080097 . Shouldn't overpay be calculated in this case, seeing that Zenzile later offered on a different hat?
Well, the person offering is expected to overpay. Since Redpoemage first offered on the spellbound buto, he was expected to overpay. Zenzile deemed that the AF pusher was not sufficient overpay and asked for a different set of hats.
Really, the sale honestly shouldn't be used. It's issues like these that make me wary of using a high tier hat to price a smaller piece in the trade. Difference of 12.6 vs 14 buds doesn't make a huge difference for the buto, but a change of 5.5 to 7 here is huge. Best to wait for another sale.
Alright then, closing this
