Hey all, I'm the original owner of the Darkblaze Glengarry Bonnet. After many fun days of playing Demoknight and sticky spam, I finally decided to part ways with it. As this is the first time this hat has changed hands, you can consider this more of a general starting point than an official price guide; I just wanted to put this transaction on record.
The Bonnet was sold on August 7th on the Steam Community Market for a listing of $270.00 USD, of which I received $234.79 USD after fees. At that time, Earbuds were not available on the Steam Community Market. At the time of the sale, buds were worth *more* in keys (around 21), but were still selling for about ~$34-38 via Paypal. For the sake of accuracy, I'm using the more conservative higher bud values (closer to $40) for calculations.
In the end, the new owner paid somewhere in the vicinity of 6.5-7.5 buds. (My best estimate is 6.75 buds). I'm leaving the value at 6.5-7.5 buds to leave room for some variation. (As I sold the hat for Steam Wallet money, my backpack value was no longer high enough to create a price suggestion this high, which is why I haven't created this until now.)
Like I said, since this is the first time the hat has changed hands, I'm leaving this as an initial starting point, rather than a fixed price.
Thanks!
You can't use steam market sales as proof. http://forums.backpack.tf/index.php?/topic/6033-new-unusual-price-suggestion-guide-the-cheat-sheet/ "Avoid market transactions as proof. Feel free to include the sale in your suggestion (as a general reference), but do not rely on it to set your range. These transactions are not reliable because the selling and buying price is different due to the steam tax."
Paypal dollars =/= SCM dollars. You cannot value buds at 34-38 on SCM. Buds on SCM are ~42. You got ~5.5 for it. The seller paid ~6.5 for it
