Not a bug, you probably never used outpost. You have to manually close the trades pushing the completed button or hiding the item clicking on it; if you don't do, they stay open even if you sold the item.

To be sure always click on the item on outpost a pop up window will appear, click inventory and check if the item is still in their inventory. In this case they both sold it.

If the new owner doesn't load his backpack on the site it isn't show in the history. Like I said the only certain way to check if an item has being sold or not it's checking the inventory and see if it's still there or no.
