        It matters if both sales are worth, say, 3 buds, because then this should be priced at 3-3.5 at the most.

          I think the glasgow's fine, I mean, look at it from a buyer's perspective. It's worth 5 buds, and it's sold on a trade for a B/O of 4. Obviously the person knew they were overpaying. The way it sounds, it's pretty subjective, and a mini would be nice, but it's not my job.

          What if it should turn out that that Bonk Helm's worth something else, such as 2? Then that'd be a sale at 3 for this Scout hat. If outdated values are valid when they support a suggestion then that'll lead to some problematic inconsistencies.

            It's literally a thirst blood, pricing's gonna be dodgy regardless. I normally wouldn't care too much, and outdated values can SUPPORT and always have been able to, but when pricing something for the first time, and seeing the amount out there, it's dodgy I agree.

              No they haven't. Outdated values are never good support when for Series 3 unusual effects and from almost an entire year ago. The suggestor needs to consider it as it sells now, not a year ago.

Also, a scammer quickly got ahold of these so they didn't last long but here were two more buy-outs at 3.5. http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/22967038 Additionally, Gyal bought his one from someone who did actually quick-sell it at 2 so it's certainly worth more than 2 and likely no more than 3 (because someone will accept that) but more sales/research is required to refine its value now.

        I would actually agree with the issue of the bonk being super out of date. If it's worth less than 2.8 buds (which it almost definitely is, just looking at the prices for the other bonks, not really making a mini - for example ghosts and both plasma's are less than 2, it would be a little surprising if c9 is higher) then that sale should be used to set the low end, not a b/o.

        My previous typing went unread so I'll try once more. Firstly, I'm going to state that this hat wasn't a TF2 item a month ago so there are no older trades. This suggestion is very lazy and incorrect as a result. Firstly, the two sales used here are from a hat that was last updated half of a year ago and the other was from a hat that was last updated one year ago, not to mention being one with a Series 3 effect. Other than that, this suggestion was made prematurely and based on buy-out prices (most of those were 4 with one at 3.5) from four days ago. This is the folly of giving this hat this value of 3.5-4 before it has stabilised.


        Now the sellers have been competing with each other, driving down the prices for this hat. Although we may be able to justify that each of these trades alone is an outlier, together they show that half of the ones available have buy-out prices below that of this suggestion.

        This hat is readily available for a lower price than given by this suggestion. That is why this suggestion is faulty; it doesn't accurately reflect this hat's current value. I'm not saying that this hat has stablised or not yet, but it certainly isn't worth as highly as suggested here.
