I'm pretty sure for a currency suggestion you need much more proof, but I am inexperienced in refined suggestions so don't take my word for it.

Ref suggestions usually have around this much proof, maybe more. There aren't that many cash traders for ref.

i agree but ref is too expensive and the price is REALLY old. OP did good job

Previous suggestion demonstrates the amount of proof ---> http://backpack.tf/vote/id/53707b474cd7b8bd118b4a22

Things have changed drastically since the last accepted suggestion. I will post links to Tf2 - traders if the original suggester doesn't.

If there were more proof to use, trust me, there would be more.

This has been needed for a long time. Staying neutral however.

~2 pages of proof on outpost (excluding the "I'm selling my whole backpack" sales. I think your proof may be a bit skimpy

Also excluding >2 days unbumped trades and highballers.

hmm... I believe this is fine, compared to other previous trades.

Question- did you manage to find other currency items? ex. Euros/Pounds/Pesos?

I converted euros (Pretty sure pounds are the same, don't kill me if I'm wrong), but I haven't found trades with other unique currencies besides 'webmoney' which I have no idea what it equals to. I just assumed it was usd. Probably am wrong though.

and by "webmoney".... I assume bit coins.

bitcoins are a crypto currency :< not sure if that's what "webmoney" is but eh

Webmoney is another website like paypal payz and etc. Only this site is used in Russia

Would Mother Russia's virtual currency be able to be used as legit proof here?

Anyways, a link to the website?

pounds are worth significantly more than euro... 1 GBP : 1.26 EUR according to google at the moment.

I would really like more proof to be honest. Last suggestion had a bunch of proof compared to yours. Im staying neutral for right now.

If you'd read his other replies and did some research you'd see that there isn't any other usable proof at the moment.

                  Bad proof. Downvote

This is going to be a long few days if different people are going to spam the same message. Please read before you post.

You need, like, ten times more links for a currency item. Everybody who has made a currency suggestion knows this. And do not say that refined is exempt from this, because it is not. This is going to be a long few days if people are going to spam the opposite and not have anything to back it up.

Please read my comments above. Ref to real world currency market is not as big as it was before. It is very small compared to other currencies.

This is really necesarry, but it hurts because everyone's bp will now drop like 15% in value

Anyways you forgot to add buyers, I sold about 30 ref to a 0.21$ buyer a few days ago.

buyers are also an important part of the market when it comes to cash trades

                    http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/20192954 0.23$ buyer

And theres a load of $0.20 buyers, but thats not in the range so thats ok.

and a few $0.21 but some are not buying currently or in rediculous amounts

Just saying, if this suggestion is accepted, it will result in the price of keys increasing at an even greater rate.

                      Current: $0.24-$0.25 x 9 refined metal= $2.16-$2.25 per key

                      Your suggestion: $0.21-$0.22 x 9 refined metal= $1.89-$1.98 per key

When trading, you should be able to buy keys at slightly below store value.

Store value: $2.49 per key/9 refined metal per key=$0.276666666666 - at true store value

Lowering the prices slightly, we get $0.26-$0.27 per key.

You must also factor in people trying to sell items quickly, thus making he prices to appear be lower than what they should be.

Those who are selling refined metal for such low prices are already making lots of profit from weapon scrapping and other such methods.

And so concludes my logical viewpoint of this suggestion. (It's much harder to find evidence of this considering that refined metal is not marketable on the steam market).

I don't know why people think that backpack.tf runs the market, because we don't. We mark down what the item seems to most easily sell at (without selling ridiculously quickly) and use it as a guide for users who want to sell the item without much stress. As you can see, people still sell ref at $.21-$.22 even though our value is set to $0.24–$0.25. Keys aren't rising in value because you can't get them for cheaper, that just doesn't make sense. It's due to the constant inflation of refined making them worth less therefore costing more to be able to buy.

It's 6 in the morning and I'm not too sure what I just typed down.

Why do people dislike maths? -12 dislikes?

Because the value of items are based on proof, not math.

The ideal system that should be permanent is:

                          Bud= 8 or 19 keys

                          Key= 8 Refined

                          Refined= 25 cents

                          key= 2.00$

If only it were that easy... a permanent system would be nice.

That would be the silliest thing to do. Haha...

I remember once somebody made 2 proofless suggestions making the value of keys 10 ref and the value of buds 10 keys. He had good intentions.... I think.

I agree... the metric system for tf2 trading would be great...

                                  10 scrap = 1 ref

                                  10 ref = 1 key

                                  10 keys = 1 bud

This plan makes my other one seem stupid... we have to make this happen for the better of all tf2 users

I'm sensing we're reaching the point where we just need to drop ref as a currency altogether since it's turning to be so worthless.

                                      10 scrap =/= 1 ref

                                        and 10 keys =/= 1 bud

I'm not sure what your point is.

idk but you can make a ref for 3 scrap so if its gonna be worth 10 scrap #profit #moneyswurth #icecreamhen

                                            #cool #fuzzy #man #boob

well you craft refined from scrap, and you can't craft keys into buds

i've sold multiple @ 0.23$. in tf trader there is quite no SELLING for your 0.21$ only quick buys. outpost should not be considered as main source of currency trading

What should be then? Outpost, Tf2 - Trader, Bazaar has always been the main source of ref suggestions. Please see past accepted suggestions.

I have posted sellers at tf2 - traders as well.

Also, you say "No one is selling for $.21" what are the links he posted for $.21 then?

                                        It's should be adjusted.

First thing is that there is system like "reputation" that influences your capability to choose price. More reliable you become, more you can ask from your buyers vice versa.

You don't have enough proof to support your range anyways, it requires more proof to adjust currency pricing.

It does not mean that there is no solds at higher ranges just because you were not able to find them.

                                        Regards

Red has posted all available usable sellers from Outpost and I have posted all available usable sellers from Tf2 -trader

The ones on Bazaar are very poorly bumped, thus unusable. That is all the current market. Ref market is much smaller than what people actually think. If you yourself, created the suggestion, you would notice how drastically it has shortened in the past 5 months. Even before that it wasn't "big" compared to the other two currencies. It has always been a small market and now just much more smaller, sadly.

If you think I have missed some "usable" sellers from Tf2 - Trader, feel free to put it down. Also, if you think the price should not go down...Feel free to post counter-proof. ^-^

                                      What about sourceop.

There isn't any, there is one and I already posted that seller on my Tf2 - trader links.. All others are highballing.

You want to tell me there isn't any $0.21-0.22 sellers and sales at sourceop, the most common cash trading site? Ok. Even if there isn't any, that means there are 10x more sales at sourceop, and they could sell ref for $0.23-0.25. Downvote lol.

It "was" most common site but now very old users use that site. As I said before...I found this which is already included in the Tf2 - trader link.

                                            http://forums.sourceop.com/threads/157126-TF2-refs-0-20-0-24USD

                                            Found another seller $0.22

                                            http://forums.sourceop.com/threads/159605-Keys-for-1-90-PayPal-no-rep-needed-ref-22

No offense but if you still think SourceOP is still popular you're living in old times and what is this even suppose to mean? o.o "Ok. If there isn't any, that means there are 10x more sales at sourceop, and they could sell ref for $0.23-0.25. Downvote lol."

Well I've never traded for cash, and I'm not using their forum, so I don't know. :D But people always said it. And every other ref suggestions had sourceop links. When/why did it die?

I know refined needed a drop but phew, that's a sharp fall. My backpack value will plummet by over 300 ;~; Good-bye milestone value hit.

Anyways, onto the proof: Not sure about the 21 with what's provided. I know the market is pretty small when it comes to refined paypal selling but

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/21525872 - Seems to be rather sold out almost?

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/23131850 - Looks good, have well over 120 ref in stock still.

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/23069493 - 20~ ref or so in stock so alright.

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/17588815 - Looks like JJ bumped his prices back up to .22, maybe .21 was selling a bit to fast for him?

21 is a bit slim on proof-wise. I'll be neutral for now until some more solid .21 gets posted.

Common sense would say this should be done as keys rise but it doesn't seem to matter here cause manipulation

Um.... what about this says manipulation to you?

No need to get sensitive over it, I just meant metal should probably go down when keys go up that's how it should be, nothing against your suggestion, it is weak in the proof though

Keys just did go up, they're 9 ref now.

I think what he was trying to say is, your suggestion should have happened a long time ago but since almost everyone wants their backpack to be valued as much as possible no one wanted to make the suggestion.

I think it's mainly because people are too stubborn to drop their prices.

I sold 1000+ refined in the past month. Let me give my input.

                                              0.24-0.25

0.24 and 0.25 are most definitely out of the picture. It takes forever to sell at 0.24-0.25 and I only sell 10 ish if someone ever does come. People usually refuse to buy at 0.25.

                                              0.22-0.23

0.23 has been more favourable to me. This range works pretty well and is what most non bulk sellers sell at on tf2-t, and other forums. It's not terribly hard to sell at this price, just takes a bit of time. People do buy at least 50 in one go at this price. 0.22 is a much better selling price than 0.23 however.

                                              0.21

This is the price I've been selling at. I get lots and lots of requests at this price, selling over 300 to one person at a time. I feel like this might be the quicksell, bulk price that sellers use when they have too much refined (myself included) and want to make a deal (if you buy 100, 0.21 each)

                                              My opinion

Setting the range to 0.22-0.23 would be alright. I'm still unsure whether to include 0.23 in.

Many many people are selling at 0.21 believe me, but it sells too fast to be legitimate.

There isn't even sellers at $.23 to put it in the range. I don't know, the availability of sellers at $0.21 - $0.22 seems to be same.

Perhaps a flat $0.22 but then again, there are available sellers at $0.21 as well.

No. Nowhere near enough proof, use other sites. 100% outpost isn't valid for refined. See previous suggestions.

I'm willing to bet you read none of the comments above.

I did, and I don't have the patience to disagree with everybody. This suggestion should be closed, the drop is too harsh and you're basing it on a couple of tf2outpost trades.

Do keep in mind that there are only 3 pages on outpost with the regularly bumped trades ending at about 1.5 pages.

                                                        "on outpost"

                                                        And other sites?

Are you sure you read all of the comments? Because someone already gave out the info relating to other sites.

                                                            5 links isn't enough

                                                            check the previous refined suggestions

You know what, I'm just going to stop replying as this has gone full circle in only 4 replies.

                                                                My thoughts too

Outpost is 100% fine for this.

People are quickbuying at .20 and .21, most of which has sold out according to your own proof.

Also, according to your own proof you can see exactly what I'm talking about.

One .21 seller has bumped up to .22

Two are in currencies other than bitcoin/paypal/google wallet

The remaining 2 have about 175 ref altogether between them.

In my opinion not enough to support the low end.

Of the TF2-T links provided by Plaxorous, both are 'new' sellers with little rep and again, maybe 100 pieces of ref between the two of them.

As stated in the comments, the price you can charge for real money trading is often dependent on your reputation and availability.

I have to say I'm kind of disappointed with the lack of effort here. Lot's of comments from OP and his supporters retorting with "find your own proof then, counterproof me" yada yada.

The burden of proof should always be ON THE SUGGESTER. Why make 2 or 3 or 12 people do the work 1 person could've done effectively.

It's not our job to police you.

Additionally, some of us are 'old school'. SOP is still a relevant website, and when gathering proof, tf2o should not be the end all be all.

Proof is proof. I think if you actually took a day to add some of these refined sellers to ask "hey are you selling much ref at ___ cents?" they would probably be happy to oblige.

TL;DR: Low end not supported by the proof given. Can't base it off 150 pieces of metal or currencies no one uses, and if it's still selling at .23 as demonstrated in the comments, it should be included in this suggestion.

Strong agree I sell keys for 1.95 usd , and I get almost no customers during the day in us time zone but frequent buyers late at night. Since everyone else is offline and I stay up till 3-5 am regularly

If you are going to be that picky about rep and all, might as well stop suggesting ref prices :P

Anyways, like I said, I provided all usable sellers from SourceOP, the rest are highballers. If you think I missed any feel free to post them.

To put $.023 in the range we would need reasonable availability of sellers or sales, we only got 1 person saying that it is possible, and 1 person definitely does not run the market here. If you could provide some more sellers or sales at $0.23, I myself would counter - suggest or let Red to re-suggest again putting $0.23 in the range but at the moment we don't have enough to put $0.23

From my perspective, if $0.21 does sell too fast too quick, perhaps a flat $0.22 would be better at the end.

"If you are going to be that picky about rep and all, might as well stop suggesting ref prices :P"

Probably for the best concidering niether you nor the suggestor has any actual experience in cash transactions whatsoever. Yet you feel throwing a bunch of links at people somehow validates your limited knowledge of the market and makes you (The op) the right person to make the suggestion.

0.22-0.23 would be a much more accurate price, anyone who actually buys/sells refined knows this. While I disagree with this suggestion, I would be compelled to support a drop to 0.22-0.23 based on personal experience of buying and selling refined within the past 2 weeks.

Already discussed. $0.22 would be best here, there is nothing to backup $0.23 with.

Also, did you even read my other replies and links I have provided? Please don't accuse and throw random insult out of nowhere. Thanks.

I suggest you try harder to put across an arguement which is actually valid. That sort of palm off excuse might work on key suggestions but not here ;) Original poster's links clearly shows RECENT sales at 0.23 and a few at higher. Nice try though.

0.23 sells, 0.22 happens more, 0.21 is a quick sell.

"As stated in the comments, the price you can charge for real money trading is often dependent on your reputation and availability."

Given this very clear and accurate statement, a range for refined should be enforced with the low end representing little/no reputation and the higher end representing high rep/trustworthy status.

-sigh- You'd think you would take the advice of a marketplace.tf employee and a man who is involved with the purchasing and sale of refined and look at resuggesting it yourself at 0.22-0.23 =) Free suggestion points for you in the name of "reflecting the current market price" gogogo!

Many have already changed prices again down to $0.21

Since it looks like many have changed their prices... Whats your point of view now? Talk about doing research huh :P

                                                                ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Also, I am trying my best to be nice as possible toward you but whats with your constant accusation and insult on me whenever you see me? Ever since you found out that I do currency suggestion here, especially on keys...You have some kind of this huge grudge on me. This is getting pathetic. Don't throw random accusation of "Putting out excuse on key suggestions" and indirect insult like "I am better than you are". If you have anything against me, PM me.

Also, like I said... There isn't any sellers at $0.23 at all. If I am missing any sellers at that price, please feel free to post.

Woah shock horror.. links which have editted their price downwards due to this suggestion \o/ We could go into how unaccepted suggestions can cause a change in pricing, but this is niether the time nor place.. besides as the prominent key suggestor you know damn well the impact it has. Suffice to say this 1000 refined at 0.21 is a small drop in the ocean that is sold on a daily basis and I wouldnt be suprised at all if the entire lot was sold within 24-48hr.

Marketplace.tf sells more, at a much higher rate. But hey we wouldnt want to include marketplace.tf since it is a "safe" transaction site. We MUST distinguish it apart from people selling refined with 2+ years of reputation.

Including marketplace.tf refined sales into the mix would debunk this suggestion entirely. Thoughts?

-Sorry didnt notice that edit there.. No "grudge" at all sweety, you do fine work and I rarely comment on suggestions unless I have actual knowledge of the item in question. The whole tf2 community should thank you for the time you put into suggestions.... In fact my last comment on any suggestion I believe was over 2 months ago [not made by you].. and one before I believe was 8 months ago. [also not made by you] No idea where youre getting this "constant accusation" from but hey if you feel that way then thats cool... If you feel like having your hand held and explained word for word why those links have dropped their price, feel free to readd me on steam and I'll waste some time on it. Only this time when I remove you please dont have youre friend threaten to "destroy my backpack" over it.. Thanks :)

That person is not even my friend. He went to you from his own will. In fact, I told him to stop after visiting you. Anyways, don't want to get off topic here, so I will drop it off here.

I don't know whats going right, but this can actually damage the keys a bit considering you need ref to buy em...

                                                            More effort needed

                                                              about dang time :P

He has one in his backpack. downvote

How the hell did this comment get likes?

because it's a joke, you idiot

Good proof, the price is very outdated, and it is time to counter the milestone for the price of keys

                                                                My backpack value is crying

I'm especially sad about this, I just reached $1,000 for my bp.

                                                                  Killing keys since '09

Though the price is outdated, doesn't mean there is a rush to make a new suggestion with little proof (currency suggestion standards). Downvote!

This price is VERY VERY outdated.

It actually has to be done.

                                                                      Some one should resuggest this.

0.21 should not be in range.

A price drop is needed though, Refined metal does not sell at 0.24-0.25 anymore.

Lol, when have bud prices ever gone up because ref prices have gone down. Refer to my comment above:

"I don't know why people think that backpack.tf runs the market, because we don't. It's due to the constant inflation of refined making them worth less therefore costing more to be able to buy."

Theres proof but logically its a dramatical drop.

And with good reason, the price is 5 months old.

well. i have constant seller at 0.2, with fees on him, ref price will drop and drop i guess :P

                                                                            Upvote nice prooves,

                                                                              Owns 4 down vote XD

Thats so funny I forgot to laugh

Key prices rising and ref dropping? People are getting crazy with these prices!

This is really going to hurt the entire everything....keys at a all time high, buds going to a all time low.....Refined at a all time low......things just are not looking good for the entire market and such....

                                                                                    Woah man that debate... not too sure but I guess I'll upvote and see what happens. RIP my decent BP value ;-;

I think you'll need more proof for changing the value of a currency. Also, you have provided more links outside your range than inside, which doesn't really support your case.

Your argument about it being 5 months old to justify the dramatic drop is not very strong. If I recall correctly, the ref price remained unchanged when keys dropped (after the bread update). It should have actually gone up, and down to the current range.

The links outside the range are unsold proving that it doesn't happen at the current range. Also well, I completely forgot about how the bread update f*cked up the economy.

                                                                                        PLS Dont do it.

Alright, I'll just close this suggestion then.

The proof is alright, besides the refined metal needs to be adjusted.

                                                                                            Upvote.

Because there is no other ingame currency to back up the value of ref, obviously we can't just value it at 1 ref.

It should be like, $.21, since most of them are selling/buying them at the price.

                                                                                                    What?

I assume you're not going to try to prove that.

I was trying to cash out for pure and sell it for 0.23$

The people downvoting my comment and many others talking about the refined metal price must be upset or something. :(

refined metal should be put on the market :p

It would kill it forever then. As cool as it seems, the price could go down to like 10 cents a piece. That would then make it up to 25 ref a key therefore, so bad idea to do that.

Down goes my bp by like $300, gg gaben

Plus,if we consider that keys are in the 1,75-1,95$ range refs are around 0,20-0,22. Upvote, this drop was needed.

W.T.F what is taking so long? are they waiting for some one to post a crap load of people selling/sold at 3 keys??? or are they just lazy and have not decided weather or not to accept it, crash the market, or decline, screw the proof? I mean, its been 4 days!

                                                                                                                          PS good proof btw

Btw, What do you mean by 3 keys?

Im just saying like they mean to wait until some one puts of a bunch of proof countering all is proof.

If it didn't happen in the past 150 comments, it's probably not going to happen.

                                                                                                                                  lol, good point

The price of keys is rising... Refined has to become cheaper.

                                                                                                                              yep.

Ok, good, we all (3 of us) agree that it should NOT pass, so admins, mods, what ever you call your self's, PASS IT!

                                                                                                                                  Why this shouldn't pass?

Am I missing something or did you just contradict yourself?

If metal declines, keys will rise to compensate it's downfall. I don't know if this is what needs to be done.. Refined already are becoming cheaper - everything costs more. This will lead to even more downfall and.. we will see

                                                                                                                                  hmmm... why not .22-.23?

                                                                                                                                    No, Wait!

Now that I actually look at it, It seems this is overused. v.v

$0.21... buy 9 for $1.89? And keys for... what? I'm so bad about irl trades o.o neutral

Someone doesnt wanna approve this. I guess he/she must have lots of refs to sell before approving. This is a mafia.

                                                                                                                                                lol, never thought of that

To my knowledge, the mods are either too rich to even use refined, or they just plain don't care since they don't trade. I really don't know why this is still dragging on with the lack of counterproof in 5 days.

[sarcasm] You must have not heard of Puddington and Mr.Bucket. [sarcasm end] Just because you are rich doesn't mean you stop using ref. Ref is one of the vital currency of everything. If this currency didn't exist, I don't know how Tf2 market would have worked at all.

I forgot about puddingtons paint shop. I mostly just assumed ref is useless once entering the realm of unusual trading. I forgot to consider that he's not much of an unusual trader than just someone who lists for ridiculous prices and lets it sit there for several months.

You should really not post on currency suggestions.

Refined price isn't even up. Grats for graduating 1st grade too.

Here's my point, especially in regard to the proof-haters who talk about tf2outpost proof pricing ~ hasn't tf2op become fairly dominant across ALL trading types, including actual cash transactions? I haven't had much luck on other trading sites for a while with basic trading, and their layout, search terms, and userbase is vastly superior. (Although it would be great if they added Spiral Knights items - but I digress). The point is, it's not horribly out of place to post proof of almost exclusively tf2op links (and yes, I noticed the other links in the comments).

Also - refined has become virtually useless in the trading community. Yes, 9 ref @ 0.25 comes out to 2.25, but people simply don't want to trade their ref for keys anymore. Keys haven't been stable around 2.66 for a very, very long time, and that has driven away most people looking for a little profit through bulk key-to-ref-and-back-again sales.

Anyway, that's my two cents. Pun intended. Upvote all day long, it's been a long time coming.

I was thinking of resuggesting at $.21 flat since most of the $.22 sellers dropped their prices. Though I would want some thoughts from maybe a mod before doing so.

People will hate me for saying this but do it.

I understand that changing the value of currency is a really big deal and a lot of thought has to be put into it (including proof). The voting has been going on for almost a week now and it's keeping me at the edge of my seat. I know that bp.tf doesn't make the prices, the market does, but this is a way of making things official. I just hope we get an update soon.

I sold 556 refined @ $0.25 USD just 2 days ago. I still think the range you're suggesting is not correct.

In my opinion, when dealing with cash trades, tf2outpost is not the go-to place. More importantly, you have to take reputation into account as well. People are willing to pay more to buy from reputable traders. On the contrary, less-reputable people try to sell for cheap to get more attention. This doesn't mean people selling at higher rates cannot sell them.

It's not really good counterproof if you don't have proof.

You can't say Outpost is not a go to place for cash when majority of cash traders comes from Outpost and Bazaar, whether it is ref, key, buds or any other items sell-able via real world currency. That part of yours does not make sense. Sorry.

How long will this take!? Upvote, though.
