Commentary
Despite being relatively old, sales do show price increase. Being irregular, price ranges could not be set directly as a range format. Also 9.33ref buyer shows that despite being relatively near backpack.tf market price, it does not sell for this low.
How price was calculated?
(4.2 + 3 + 2.5 + 2 + 1.2) / 5 = 2.58
That should be the current trading point covering actual sales. If you can provide counter-proof, feel free to do so.
Why did you round it to 2.5? 2.6 is closer
It's up to, how you interpret paint added value and therefore make adjustment according to your evaluation on it's effect. I would support that paint did "add up" it's worth. It's up to you to decide if this price is or isn't valid
can you use the 2month old ones? cuz the last price suggestion was 2months ago
who has the answer?
In this case these are only ones i could find. It seems this thing does not sells that frequently. And this price indicate that current range is invalid as there is no evidence it sells for 1.5 keys or below, or these cases are extremely rare - found only one example in past 2 month period.
Yeah I believe that is fine.
You have one and there is a typo in the 1st sentence. Downvote.
Jk, looks nice, upgoat.
The black paint left over beard did not sell for 4.2 keys because i was the buyer for that, I purchase it for 2 or 3 keys(Forgot how much i bought it for). The guy that was selling it was in a hurry to sell it.
Thanks to clarify it! It's the flaw of gathering evidence that you sometimes may face difficulties to properly identify solds. It could help if "trade history" would be public.. but it's not, all we've got is trade logs and it's info's..

Sales :

3 keys

Then you value by averaging any sales (plain strange / painted).
(4.2 + 3 + 2.5 + 2 + 1.2) / 5 = 2.58
Great job on the links.
BUT, the valuation method with averaging is radical. Esp. when the spread (4.2-1.2 = 3 keys) takes 80% of the highest value, and the spread is even greater than the outcome of 2.58.
Judging from the comments, this suggestion may well be accepted, so, I'm going abstain
1. I did prove that current price can be unjustified
2. Method of averaging the price was taken to "strip off" any subjective reason between any of these prices.
3. Paint's and it's added value are subjective, for certain items it's quite clearly add value, but then, it should show more sales of these painted things IMHO.
