You get a thumbs up from me, but maybe 10.88 would really be a better low-end. I sold a key today and at 10.66 and it was basically an insta-sell with multiple offers coming in, I can see them easily selling at 11 ref.

Does anyone happen to have an explanation for the keys' value suddenly skyrocketing?

There have been multiple things that have affected the key price rising, but I'm probably wrong with these reasons below

There has not been a really big use for refined, like breadboxes/chemistry sets etc., so keys are just going up because metal is going down

This might not be correct, but the new weapon drop system? Weapons are more common, so metal is more common, therefore metal is going down and keys are going up

Most importantly, metal is free, keys are not. The gap is inevitably going to widen.

I liked it a lot better when Refined Metal was $0.30, Keys were 7.33 Refined Metal, and Earbuds were 20 keys... and why should they rise again? You can buy them in the Mann Co. Store for less than a Pomson 6000 or a Ap-Sap so if anything, The Pomson 6000 should be worth 4 keys!!

Then again... Pomson-6000 is available as a drop. Ap-Sap, there's not much of a demand for it.

Keys = Higher Demand, Not available as a drop, and people will prefer keys than items.

Weapons in store to buy is a way for Valve to offer people that do not want to grind hours of gameplay to get one specific weapon.

Also do not forget, you can try out most of the weapons from the store (not all at the same time granted) for free how often you like.

Imagine giving keys for free to "try out" with unboxing crates.

The range is probably ok in reality (I'm seeing a lot of the bots selling for 11.11 ref atm for example) but you do need more proof for the high end. If you can get that then upvote but neutral for now.

I love how actual in game trading in trade servers is always ignored. We're all (all the people that I have seen) still selling/buying for 10 ref.

I love how there isn't any form of evidence provided to show that ppl still sell their keys for 10 ref in trade servers. Show me sellers of keys at 10 ref and I'll buy them all instantly with no questions asked.

Do not forget the fact that 1 trade server can only accommodate 32 people compared to major trading sites which thousands of ppl have access to. Try putting up a key on outpost for 10 ref and you will receive 20 friend requests in less than a minute.

I believe the correct answer would be "50 friend requests in 1 nanosecond" :P

Great proof. As the time is passing by, 11ref is getting more and more realistic (even though BP suggests maximum 10.44 ref at the moment). The price is going up no matter what price BP's community wants to put on a key. I say upvote because this suggestions fits the actual market pricing.

No, it happens because whenever the bp.tf price gets raised, traders see it and boost their prices higher. Like it or not, this is the price bible, and every time someone raises the key price to "reflect" the market, they're pushing them higher.

I've tried to buy keys from scrap.tf in the past, it's impossible because not only there's the huge amount of people that want the keys too, but also that they never have stock since they buy anything at absurdly low prices, low enough to the point any other trader is willing to pay more for keys.

I myself have managed to buy Keys in the past. Heck, it's practically how I get my Keys now, since scrap.tf sells at a price that isn't too far off from the normal price. You just have to refresh... a lot.

The current price is outdated for sure, everything below 10.66 ref sells very fast, but it's not hard to buy them at 10.66 ref, it seems the most common price right now. 11 ref looks like too high right now to be included in the range.

I think that the high range is too much at this moment. Something better would be setting it at 10.66 solid, imo. But anyways, This whole suggestion doesn't have enough proof for the suggested range that I know.

Good proof, but I feel that it should be 10.66 to 10.88 by the sales.

All sellers at 11 ref have sold VERY slowly. There are still many sellers at 10.33-10.55. I even saw some at 10 ref. And there are basically no buyers at 11 ref.

This isn't actually the place to report scams, this is just a suggestion on the price of Keys. Still, I can help you report the user.

To report someone, go to their profile page. Then, go to the button that says, "More", which is on the right of the screen. It should have a drop-down box with three things. Select the bottom-most one, which should say, "Report Violation". It should have a flag to the left of it. Click it, and you'll be taken to a box with options to select and a box to explain what had happened at greater length. In this case, you would select, "Attempted Trade Scam", at the bottom-right. In the text box, explain what had happened to the best of your ability. Then, click send, and you will have reported the user.

I don't know what will happen later, since I've never had to report anyone, but I hope this helps! ^_^

Just wondering: Why are so many people saying this proof is good? The proof given doesn't support the high range properly. It only shows that keys should be at 10.66 solid or something of the like, maybe 10.66 to 10.88. Guess people are just saying it's good proof all randomly without actually considering how high the range is.
