Suggestion: Earbuds at 15–15.5 keys

Somewhat conservative drop, listed it as keys + ref as the current price on backpack.tf is clearly outdated (10.33-10.66 when there are a large number of buyers for 11ref)

Please tell me if i have made a mistake or anything :)

Im showing that there are many sellers willing to sell for below the current price listed on backpack.tf, dont blindly say you need solds to disregard logic. Solds are good but it isnt required.

I wasnt going to include 15keys in the range at first but saw quite a number of sellers and when i looked at the previous suggestions users indicated that they bought quite a bit @15 keys (including you who said you bought over 100 @15keys) which is why i elected to include it in the range.

Ill wait for more feedback and adjust the range if needed (and hopefully keys price would have updated by then so i can actually get a range...)

This suggestion might have a chance, though it's hard to say for sure. The change in buyer prices could just be suggestion hype.

Let me explain;

Let's say I have a crate. I decide to ask an outrageous amount of pure for it, say, 540 buds ᶦᶰᶰᶦᵗ. People catch on and they're all like "oi, we'll sell for that much too". And, of course, no one's going to buy a crate for that much. Therefore, those crates will remain unsold until they drop to a reasonable price.

Well what happens when the current price is higher than what people are selling for? Does it make my proof invalid even though a large number of sellers are selling for less? Rules are not an excuse to discount logic ^^

You don't exactly need solds, when lowering a price you need sellers, or unsolds. Those unsolds/sellers should have an exponential quantity since it's a currency suggestion. Quickbuyer's would just be supportive proof.

But what if people are actually buying for less, and they're trying to sell for more. People still sell unpainted bill's for 4 keys, but no one's buying, ᶦᶰᶰᶦᵗ.

I never got was was so great about buds anyway... There's like over 80k of them, sure they are cool but not 15 keys of cool

It's probably due to the amount of cosmetics being introduced + cheap expanders. Back in the day, there were fewer miscs to choose from. Earbuds meant prestige among the miscs with the musical notes effect coming out of the ears. Also back in the day, BP expanders were $5 each, so upgrading BP slots to accomodate extra Keys was more taxing on the wallet than it is now. An alternative to buying BP expanders is to exchange Keys for Earbuds. Since expanders are a bit more accessible now(hell, they've even been given out for free in a few holidays), the need to exchange Keys to Earbuds has somewhat lessened.

It's not that Buds were better or worse, it's that there was more pressure for Buds to be used/needed as a store of value. I also forgot to mention that the old TF2 trade system had a maximum of 8 items per transaction(in contrast to almost having no limit with the current trade system handled by Steam), making Buds' role as a key storage even more important to complete high-value trades in the past.

So its price isn't necessarily tied to how good/bad it looked vs Unusuals or other miscs, rather its legacy as a store-of-value for keys.

To support your proof, I have bought over 30 buds for 15 keys a piece. I have also witnessed tons of sellers selling for 15.1~15.4. Upvote!

There are just a ton of 15 key buyers. Lots of buyer competition. And typically for buds, we don't include buyers in the range.

Buyers seems to have had so much success buying for 15keys with D0 who claims to have bought over 100 since the last suggestion and The one + green who bought 30+ and 15key sellers seem to pop up quite frequently. Would you recommend removing 15keys as low range?

If so ill remake the suggestion once a decision on the key suggestion is made. (Cant exactly make an accurate range when there are a lot of buyers for 11refs and bp.tf is still stagnating at 10.33ref)

Well, it's def dropping. More & more 15key sellers - But it's one thing to see a lot of 15key sales and see a lot of 15key sales that reflect and decide the market. Because most of your sellers are poorly bumped/young or restocking.

Maybe wait a while or something, I just managed to buy ~30 today so I'm dropping my buying price due to low key stock. But then again, I'm just 1 person who don't decide the market more than any1 else.

This will probably be left up for a few days anyways. It will be interesting to see if several of the 15 key buyers drop their price. As for the key suggestion, if you have loads of 11 ref buyers, you should add them because the current suggestion doesn't have many.

It appears there is both sellers and quick sellers at lower range. It's quite arguable, it would be better to support, either quick-buyers or low-end sellers range (depends on how we interpret) with some actual sales.

Plenty of solid proof on this one. As much as I hate to see Earbud prices continue to fall, I'll give my vote for yes.

Please note that Backpack.tf doesn't come with the price magically out of thin air, most people who create a suggestion have valid proof from multiple links(aka buyers/ sellers). The people who state the prices are the reporters. So don't blame them, blame everyone else (aka the sellers in this case) for droping the prices down to 15 keys.

I'm going to stay neutral. Still deciding between quickbuyers or not but a drop is in the definite future.
