^With two sales at 2.3, and the fact that the Cloud Crasher is duped, I’m comfortable calling this a low outlier.

Sale #4 (invalid): Complex sale involving unpriced hats.

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/23765225 - No B/O, ~3 buds though

If you have any constructive criticisms for my suggestion, leave a comment!

1,7 isn't really an outlier to 2.3 even with 2 sales at 2.3

It's off by a quarter of its proposed value. That's pretty significant.

.6 buds is not significant, there are prices at 2-3 buds..

Certainly there are. It isn't the distance between two values that matters though, it's the relationship between them.

If I had a single sale at 1.7 and a single sale at 2.3, a range of 1.7-2.3 would make sense. With two sales at 2.3 and one at 1.7, a 25% difference makes 1.7 an outlier.

Of course someone would pay less then what a hat is considered to be worth(~2.3). But, what matter's is what the seller is willing to sell it for, since someone was willing to sell it for ~1.7 that should be included in the range, if it was over the 2.3 so let's say you had 2 sales at 2.3, which you do, and a sale at 3 the 3 would then be considered an outlier. But since someone was willing to sell it for lower then what 2 others have sold it for, again, 1.7 should be included in the range.

"Low End: Set the low end no lower than commonly offered / traded values of a hat."

^This is taken directly from the unusual price suggestion cheat sheet. Here we have three sales, two at 2.3 and one at 1.7.

2.3 is the commonly traded value here. I'm not sure why you think low ends work like that, but I'm quoting the actual moderator-approved guide.

If you'd like a more concrete example, take a look at this recently passed suggestion:

              http://backpack.tf/vote/details/546c2a65b88d88847d8b49fa

One seller here was willing to sell it for less than others did, but it was correctly deemed an outlier because it was notably lower than commonly traded values (~25% lower coincidentally, the same difference that exists between the values in my suggestion).

I was going to edit my last comment, but I can't edit it now. You cannot determine it an outlier, I'm pretty sure you need a mini since the Cloud Crasher is duped.

"Hats under 3 buds in value should no longer need minis if they are duped."

Quoting the price suggestion cheat sheet again (Polar's 2nd update). And even if I did need a mini, duped status doesn't raise the value of hats, it diminishes it. So it's either 1.7 (and an outlier), or it's even lower than 1.7 (and a bigger outlier).

Fair game, still feel it should be in the range, someone willingly sold it for that price.

Well, if for some reason the mods reject my suggestion and deem 1.7-2.3 to be a more valid range, even though it conflicts with the rules that I've mentioned, then you can use my evidence and suggest at that value. I don't believe that it's fair and don't ever want to suggest at a price that I can't endorse (I'm sure you feel the same way), so I wouldn't be willing to re-suggest anyway. Does that sound alright to you? It's ultimately going to be up to the mods regardless.

No I understand how you feel, it's more of an opinion, and this suggestion would probably pass with ease. I'm just saying that if the range were made 1.7-2.3 it would have just as much of a chance.

Eh. 1.7 sale went in a day. If more sales fall in that range, it can be added to the range.
