calculations for ref into keys used 11.44 as the denominator. "continuously dropping" just means that they're asking for ref. we all know how ref is doing atm...

outpost:

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/23885943 - somewhere under a key... what? it's a quicksale, but i'll just throw it up anyway to see how it does.

Plenty of unsolds at 2 keys, even with free paint in the classifieds - http://backpack.tf/classifieds/?item=procedure+mask&quality=3

    Unsolds @ 1.75-2 keys?

Classifieds are suport proof, can't be used as main.

Classifieds are only support proof. Having unsolds at 2 via classifieds isn't enough by itself to prove 2 doesn't sell :P

unsolds @2 on outpost are above. i forgot to include them.

maaaan, I dont even know how such ugly misc can be so high, nice proff doe, upvote

just about to make this but u made one >;c

anyways 1.5 flat is fine imo

if anything, this new range is too high. Market shows them selling (and unsold) at ~$2.75 which is under 1.5 keys even if you pay fees twice (selling keys to buy mask).

the steam community market is not really a great source for prices. people are willing to sell items for less there because the sellers receive steam credits (which be used to buy any other thing, including games) rather than other virtual items. just think of steam credits as real money... except you can't spend it anywhere else... i'm sure you get what i'm saying...

The reason for market pricing (which, for this item, is about the same as on classifieds and outpost, not lower) doesn't really matter -- the point is they are definitely available below 1.5 keys and the range should reflect that.

If people are also successfully selling for 1.75 on outpost, that's cool, and the range should reflect that too.

prices on bp do not and never will reflect the prices of items on the community market. this site only shows what people are willing to pay for items w/ tf2 currency, not in steam credits. Also, no matter what the price of an item may be, it will almost always (~99.99% of the time) be "cheaper" in steam credits and in the classifieds (due to the nature of it and the way that market place is set up). for these reasons, the majority of experienced traders involved with this website do not find those sources to be any dictating factor in the price of anything (not even to justify high or low ends. in extremely rare cases, the classified may come into play). at best, they are just support proof. not even necessary, but it helps.

Yeah, support proof. As in: Outpost, Classifieds, AND Market all have unsold items below the suggested range, which "supports" the argument that the suggested range is too high.

i "just" listed reasons why items will almost always be cheaper in those market places no matter what the current price at the time is. I also just checked every trade on outpost (i hadn't since i suggested this). there are still no unsold masks below what i'm suggesting, besides the one quicksale (not accurate because it includes other items, and it is poorly bumped) and a trade for 1 key + 4 ref (is still a young trade). I agree with you that this is inevitably dropping in price (actually, everything is, due to our decent into an "economic depression") and i do expect it to drop lower, but as it is now, the evidence is still implying a range like so. if i were to guess, i would say it would hit a key by the end of the month.

there are 2 autobumped trades on outpost selling under 1.5. One is a week old, the other 2 days.

Literally every place it's possible to look has them cheaper than your range. If someone were to buy one right now, he would easily find for less than 1.5.

i just checked outpost again. i checked every auto bump trade and found non under 1.5 (besides the one that is still young that i already mentioned). i even rechecked the non auto bumps and still found nothing. it would interesting for you to provide link(s).

i do believe it's possible to find anything cheaper than what bp suggests it is, for the same reasons already posted. i don't want to rehash this again. another price factor i neglected to mention was that outpost alone is significantly more popular than any other trading web site (more people use it). i would bet it would be pretty hard to sell anything on somewhere like baazar, or maybe some other site little to no people know of.

                          http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/23796284

There's a big difference between "it's possible to find anything cheaper than what bp suggests" ... and ... "Literally every place it's possible to look has them cheaper than your range." The second is a much stronger statement.

                          > outpost alone is significantly more popular than any other trading web site

Outpost is a tiny fraction of the size of SCM. OP has <100 nametag listings, for example, market has over 3000. Hundreds sold just in the last 12 hours. That's what makes it a good source of pricing info, and perfectly capable of disproving the suitability of a range, especially when every other site also refutes that range.
