I have read the price suggestion guides, the one here and the one on the forums, and I think I know how to do this right.
Sales:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/23558970 Trade put up 2 weeks ago, guy selling for 15 keys, the hat is now in another user's inventory. Unfortunately due to my incompetence, and lack of explanation in the guides of how to actually acquire sales, this is all I have.
Trades up currently:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/22874438 15 keys (Cashing out, if that makes any difference to you)
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/23933033 14 keys
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/23931978 14 keys
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/23885261 15 keys
If an error of my ways is present, please notify me of it. (If I screwed something up please let me know)
would like to actually see a sale at 14keys or equivalent :<
You need to wait until at least 3 are sold by bookmarking the trades and waiting for the trade to close, then checking out the backpack history of the user to see what he got for it. Price raises need proof of sales rather than sellers, because you could list your item at 100 buds, but that doesn't mean its actually worth that.
3 sales aren't needed :<
For a price raise there is I'm afraid, except in some circumstances where very few valid sales have occurred withing the last 3 months
That just isn't true. You use as many sales as possible under all circumstances.
There's no arbitrary 'u need 3', that's just silly
"at least 3" not "only 3" or "no more than 3". I don't mean to be rude, but please read more carefully before criticizing like that. Obviously its more complex than what I said, but this isn't the place to write an essay about it.
Doesn't make it true though. I RARELY make suggestions with 3 sales if two valid ones present themselves, even if more are available. The ONLY time you definitely need three is to prove an outlier.
There that's fair. It's much more helpful and constructive to explain the criticism than just say "you're wrong". It's always good to be pointed out to be wrong if it's done in a good and productive way.
I was convinced I'd done that before, though it was written both on my phone and in a hurry.
Apologies if I wasn't clear :3
You need too get a sold in order to raise a price, not sellers.
you need sales
Well, to my knowledge I had a sale, but maybe my knowledge is flawed. Also, thank you for notifying me, I hadn't seen the other handful of people who said the same thing.
you need to find out what it actually sold for though
I have no clue how to do that.
track item histories or look at backpack histories
Still not sure how to do it, thank you for helping me though.
You can check backpack histories, using the historical view, or you can contact the buyer/seller and confirm how much it was bought for.
This is my second attempt at making a price suggestion and I've done it wrong once again. Most people can probably see that the price should be changed, but I just don't have any solid evidence. And though people have helped me to understand how to gather proper evidence, if someone else would like to (emphasis on the 'like', not begging anyone) take this into their own hands and make a proper suggestion for the hat that would be great. And I'm not sure if asking this is proper etiquette so I apologize if it is not.
