Any hat can be priced based on a single sale if ALL these criteria are met:
- There are no other recent sales in the last 3 months
- The effect is not a Halloween 2014 effect.
- The hat went to a collector or person who intends to keep the hat. A collector can be identified by looking at the person's trade history, item history of similar unusuals in the backpack OR if the owner has not resold the hat 1 month after the sale occurred.
Need 2 sales, this is a 2014 halloween effect
Edit: nvm the rule apparently changed after Dec 1.
December first, the One sale Rule was revoked.
Just going to give this a date so that there isn't this uncertainty / confusion and so that people can start collecting suggestions and so that sales to collectors don't slip through the cracks.
December 1 - Halloween 2014 effects can be priced based on a single sale as long as the other two criteria are met.
This will be roughly one month after the halloween update - plenty of time to make sure the buyer isn't reselling and enough time for the prices to settle.

@polar. Thanks for the info. There are no other sales of this item (its one of a kind), and I have several other unusual taunts in my BP that have been there for a few months - I have yet to sell an unusual taunt, actually. I think I meet the criteria based on your info. Thanks again.
if you have no plans to sell it then it's fine now.
