I like strange cosmetics. Its cool to keep track of points scored for each class (they rank up way too fast though, I bought a set of 9 like a year and a little ago and all but two are the highest rank by now)
I think they are useless. They are just like the normal ones, but more expensive...
You could say the same thing about strange weapons, vintage items, genuine items, collectors items, etc, which quite clearly a lot of people value quite highly.
Strange cosmetics exist because volvo wants money.
