You wouldn't use unsolds for a raise

They CAN help to prove a range, For example if I was the owner of this suggestion, I could toss in some unsolds for prices above 8 ref to show that 8 ref in the range is in good standing.

so people selling keys for 30 ref would help the range of 17-17.33 by that logic >.>

You're twisting my words, I mean like 9 ref, not 200 buds. That much should be obvious

If sellers at a higher price are used to prove that an item should be raised but have not sold that item, then it wouldn't show that a raise is necessary. It would actually counter a suggestion about raising a price.
