Orbiting Fire Madame Dixie (12-13 keys) | (last updated 7 months ago)

Last priced at: 14-16 keys

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Trade #1: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/24604668 (Buyout – 1 bud)

I am starting out with the trade used in the other suggestion. This unusual did not sell for a bud, as the other suggestion states. It would be extremely odd for a quick-sell buying trader to buy an item at full price and then turn it around to sell for a buyout 2-3 keys. Therefore I added the buyer who politely provided a screenshot of the sale which was actually for 10 keys.

Seller’s Backpack History too radically changed to see the trade. However, I added the user and confirmed.

As per backpack.tf’s unusual suggestion rules: http://forums.backpack.tf/index.php?/topic/6033-new-unusual-price-suggestion-guide-the-cheat-sheet, this sale will be valued at 12 keys. “No sale should be valued higher than a hat’s buyout in pure.”

Trade #3: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/24643214 (Buyout – 13 keys)

Sold for Bubbling Brain Bucket

http://www.tf2outpost.com/item/440,3440376243,321,5 History of Madam Dixie

http://www.tf2outpost.com/item/440,3440376234,434,5 History of Brain Bucket

Brain Bucket last priced September 17th, 2014 at 13-14 keys: http://backpack.tf/stats/Unusual/Brain%20Bucket/Tradable/Craftable/34

However, current buyouts on the Bubbling Brain Bucket:

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/22462801 12 keys

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/23812142 12.5 keys

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/24677251 13 keys

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/24675312 13 keys

Therefore the sale should not be considered in value over 12-12.5 keys.

Trade #4: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/24588113 (Buyout – 14 keys)

Sold in a one for one deal for an Ace’s High Tough Guy’s Toque:

Ace’s High Tough Guy’s Toque first and last priced October 21st, 2014 at 0.9-1.1 buds: http://backpack.tf/stats/Unusual/Tough%20Guy's%20Toque/Tradable/Craftable/59

With overpay, the value of the trade currently would be 13.5 keys (15 keys * 90%), however, current buyouts for the Ace’s High Tough Guy’s Toque are as follows:

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/24671258 12 keys (created yesterday)

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/24563674 12-15 keys (created 7 days ago)

Therefore it is safe to value the trade closer to 12-13 keys rather than 13.5 keys due to current buyouts on the Tough Guy’s Toque.

Trade #5: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/24667702 (Buyout – 15 keys)

Madam Dixie was sold for a large assortment of items which I cannot clearly define. However, the drop in seller’s backpack ($18) is fairly proportional to the raise in the buyer’s backpack ($17) which leads me to believe the trade did occur with items and not over Steam Community Market.

Buyer’s Backpack History:

Before: http://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198023759679?time=1421308800

After: http://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198023759679?time=1421395200

Seller’s Backpack History:

Before: http://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198056461602?time=1420790400

After: http://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198056461602?time=1421395200

I am not going to attempt to value the sale since I do not wish to crawl through the user’s backpack histories in an attempt to catalog all the items traded. The sale would not be an ideal representation of values since the seller may have settled for less in exchange for items he more wanted. However, to generalize the trade, I do not believe the estimated value of the items was near 15 keys due to the substantial loss of backpack value on the seller’s side.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In conclusion, we have a sale at 10 keys, 12 keys, 12-12.5 keys, and 12-13 keys. The 10 key sale was obviously a quicksell, and the other sales do have potential stretches for 13 keys (even though current buyouts of the items they sold for may be subpar to this statement) I believe an ideal range based on the evidence provided is 12-13 keys.

P.S. Section:

Thank you again to funkle for graciously providing screenshots to aid this suggestion and debunk the current one!

Lastly to Sugarcube, you're wrong, and if it were not for your atrociously inaccurate statement, I would not be creating this suggestion today. You cannot base a suggestion on a single sale when there are other unusuals of the same hat/effect combination for sale, and especially not when other sale have also occurred recently. backpack.tf is meant to report unusual sales to the best of its ability and uphold a standard for its suggestions. Not the inaccurate laziness of the suggestion you stated was acceptable to create: http://backpack.tf/vote/id/54b9fb41ba8d889d748b4778#comment-54b9fea1b98d88dc7b8b4798

If you are unsure of how to create unusual suggestions, then I suggest you refer back to the unusual price suggestion guide for assistance: http://forums.backpack.tf/index.php?/topic/6033-new-unusual-price-suggestion-guide-the-cheat-sheet

Particularly the section:

Any hat can be priced based on a single sale if ALL these criteria are met:

- There are no other recent sales in the last 3 months

That's all folks!

    yay you're suggesting again.

That little hate snip to me, KINDLY LISTEN TO ACTUAL UNUSUAL SUGGESTORS.

Me, Dezi, jacob and Gent too if he was awake at the time

      We all Agreed AGAINST you.

+ I still, NEVER SAID the suggestion was VALID.

Seriously, if you took the time to learn context, you'd know what I meant. I was referencing the fact you claimed EVERY hat must have 2+ links to validate under certain criteria. Only UNPRICED hats have that implication.

You said every hat with a price MUST be updated with 2+ links.

      NO THEY DO NOT.

Countless suggestions have passed with one link to refresh, EVEN I HAVE DONE SO

If a hat has had More than one sale then you must make the effort to include all, which Clarity did not do, instead she put in one link. That's fine, she got a sale. But there were more. Oh, oh jeez, that must mean I must instantly agree with every price change in a Dixie? No. They got one sold, and I'm sure there were more. If you look at my vote history, I did not vote on the suggestion.

If you are so pretentious and self-righteous to make a 'special section' dedicated to me to name and shame me, you can at least use it with updated information and actual logical reasoning before humiliating yourself without knowing the full picture

      NO RE BALOO

If you're going to use suggestions as a platform to actively bash other users, then I think I preferred it when you didn't suggest, Baloo.

Polar has made it abundantly clear on several occasions that quality of sales is far more important than quantity of sales when it comes to unusuals.

A one-sale suggestion is perfectly valid even if other sales have occurred, as, as you've highlighted even in this suggestion, you've obtained almost no concrete values, and the inclusion of trade 5 is entirely pointless. It just makes extra work for the moderators to review and is unnecessary - and I only feel all this information is here in an attempt to create some sort of moral high-ground for yourself. Any regular suggester would agree this is completely superfluous.

If you have a problem with somebody, either speak to a moderator or speak to them privately. Using suggestions as a personal soapbox makes the site look bad, and is entirely not what suggestions are for.

First of all, thanks for making this suggestion. You clearly had put a lot of effort into this.

Just to clarify one thing about the rules

        Quoted from your suggestion

        "Particularly the section:

Any hat can be priced based on a single sale if ALL these criteria are met:

        - There are no other recent sales in the last 3 months"

This part of the rule only applies to an unpriced unusual. If it is just updating an already priced unusual and there is only one recent sale, then one sale is justified. Of course, if there are many other sales within the 2 months period, the other sales should be looked at to the best of ability as well. I hope that this clears things up.

The last thing I want to see is two excellent unusual suggestors not getting along terms with each other. Please refrain from any further personal attacks on each other's suggesting ability. Any further comments of such nature will be warned.

        Thanks and peace out.
