I'm completely stuck on said essay, by the way. Anybody know anything about population movement on mainland Europe between 500-900 AD and the degree to which said movements could be considered invasions v migrations?
Let it ride.
Population movement was mainly because of the breakdown of the Roman Empire amiright
Barbarian tribes moved a lot all over Europe, Vikings made expeditions
It was general feudal times I think, so invading neighboring lands was quite frequent as vassals wanted to expand their territory
I've forgotten most of the stuff I took last year in AP World History, but hopefully I'm right.
The Roman stuff is right, I blathered on for about 1000 words on that XD
Vikings I dodged because I wanted to make a point about Britain being relatively stable and the Vikings stick a big bloody harpoon in that :P
Expanding territory weighs into the invasion v migration thing, yeah :3
Maybe you could stick in a thing about Christianity and all that
The Church wanting to expand territory, and giving power to vassals in return for more converts from new lands idk
That might be a cause for invasion
There was also a lot of forced movement mainly because of the Huns that came in hard from Asia and generally screwed everyone over. Also food sources were scarce, as the area was in general disarray because the Romans didn't organize things anymore because they didn't exist anymore.
rip
Bettar >:3
Hey, a question; what were the sweets for the degroot? I'm planning on stealing your proof because I'm a horrible human being.
That's fine, I had no intention of suggesting it anyway XD
Couple of decent miscs and some other crap, as I recall, I probably should have been paying a little more attention XD
