Mini for veil:

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/24459135#latest - sold for 5 buds pure

Your mini valued the veil at 5 buds and the value you used in the sale was 4.5?

I thought overpay was still needed? I mean, it did sold for full pure in the mini, but since it was later offered on the ten gallon, shouldn't overpay be accounted for that?

Which was why I calculated overpay on both the amby and grenade as well, while using mid price for the gallon.

well if you are applying overpay on the veil + sweets, then the value that you obtained for the spellbound liquidator lid as it is is the value before overpay is applied on it. You are basically treating the liquidator's lid as not part of the overpay which shouldn't be the case if you get what i mean.

Actually, that isn't the case at all. From how I see it:

Veil + sweets + lid was offered on the gallon. So in other words, veil + lid + sweets are accouted for overpay. If I take the midpoint value of gallon (9) and minus it with price of veil and sweets (after overpay), it'll be like this:

          9 (gallon) - 4.5 (veil A/O pay) - 0.6 (Sweets A/O) = Lid (after overpay)

I know you said here that if I calculate overpay on veil, then the lid would not be part of overpay, but that isnt true because the Ten Gallon price of 9 buds is already after everything is accounted for overpay. So if I minus off veil A/O and sweets A/O, I will get Lid A/O and not the other way round.

Say if it was the other way round and the gallon was offered instead, I would've calclulated like this:

            8.1 (gallon A/O) - 5 (veil, No overpay) - 0.7 (sweets) = 2.4 buds (Lid, no overpay)

Which would be an outlier, but (correct me if im wrong) in accordance to the rules iirc.

Suggestions like these can get confusing. It's the exact reason we don't like using complex sales like these to price a small piece in the trade. All offered hats should not have overpay factored in. The person offering the lid had to overpay. Technically, reverse overpay would need to be applied. And the way you would do that would be to divide the value of the ten gallon by 0.9. It would be 9 / 0.9 =~10. And then you would do 10 - 5 - 0.6 in sweets to get ~4.5 in value. But we decided a long time ago to forgo reverse overpay calculations. I just wouldn't use that sale to set the price.

This should just be 5 flat.
