SCM sales should be treated like any other sales. If there are proof that the hat did indeed get sold on SCM for a certain amount, you should at least calculate what it sold for to establish a range or to see which is an outlier.

I realised that the buyer was selling it for 3 buds, which was why i removed part of my comment and added the trade link above.

But to answer your question about identifying the effect, you have to add the buyer to ask him unless he stated that in his trade. But i don't think its necessary at this point.
