Targeting a certain person's backpack isn't allowed.
I say something and you resort to this, just proves my point.
someone would still go and drop them, so...
No he's specifically targeting me. He didn't respond to my comment, he immediately just goes and drops my unusuals prices.
you can do it to his hats too,
and that doesnt mean he can't drop your unusuals
I know I can, but I don't roll that way, there is an exception though...
Probably doesn't, but that's extremely pathetic.
it's not like it will destroy your trading career/steam/life
so be happy with what you have right now
I know, I'm more annoyed that he does this instead of responding to my comment.
does he have to respond?
no he doesn't
Showing he can't reply is enough to show my points are valid.
Why the hell is this person defending him? What he did was cruel.
Probably because they're friends. (Tactical and Sugarcube).
Attacking someones backpack value on purpose is against the rules of backpack.tf, let alone it being cruel.
I wonder if Tactical defended Sugarcube on their own terms, or if they were threatened/begged. I'd love to see him jump in after his ban, and clear up a few things. Hopefully he won't go on a rampage trying to defend himself, because that obviously wouldn't work.
Tactical is on cubes friends list and they've done suggestions together (I'm pretty sure).
So they did it on their own terms? That's odd.
Pretty sure.
The part that I still do not understand is why some people have hard times accepting another's opinion, especially over something as trivial as this. Why would they go to the point of bullying another for something so unimportant, and actually put effort into it? It seems like this type of person goes out of their way to make someone's day worse. Even though dropping virtual hat values does not affect real life, it is just mind-boggling how someone puts effort into screwing with someone's happiness. I'm not going to further directly berate Sugarcube, as it looks like he got punishment enough.
Tries to bully a guy with pricing suggestions of all things, while being super cocky and arrogant, gets banned for his efforts.
That's so sad and pathetic.
His other most recent ban was for calling another user "scum." Ironic, huh?
I honestly can't even imagine how one can get so conceited over something as trivial as prices for TF2 items. It's like he defines his reality by it. Just... sad. And yeah, a very childish reaction.
Hopefully he'd be smart enough not to come after others. What was the comment that pissed him off to begin with?
Missed it, don't know. From what I understand the guy he harassed simply asked him to not call certain unusual/s "cancer". Might have been something more.
Ridiculous.
Pretty sure this suggestion was sparked because of the first comment on this suggestion.

"Targeting a person's backpack isn't allowed.
Also this hat isn't cancer."
As shown by the tagline of this suggestion; "Don't do it again."
Nah, he had all 3 suggestions up at the same time.
He posted all 3 links on my profile and stated "Don't fuck with me again"
I commented late.
As shown before, he was pretty cocky about this, and obviously wanted to stand his ground in worthless opinions. Do you think that he will ever earnestly apologize?
Ha, he won't. I really doubt he will.
And I don't expect any apologies anyhow.
I feel like his cocky attitude will prompt him to forcefully and painfully apologize specifically to prove you wrong, since you said that he wouldn't apologize.
But now he won't apologize, because we saw it coming. But now he will apologize to prove me wrong!
He won't, he has an ego as well. Thinks he's all that.
If he does apologize, then I'm wrong.
Lol that spoiler made my day.
Anyways imma stop posting, mods are gonna warn soon.
They should warn now to notify us if they are not okay with this, because, as far as I know, they agree with what we're saying due to Sugarcube's ban report. Also, I do feel sympathy for you, but not because he lowered the hats, but because he went out of his way and put effort into attempting to bullying you. I'm done posting too :p
Probably not the best place to be asking this, but since there are plenty of comments about him anyway... How do you see someones ban/report history? I know there was something somewhere... I also kinda thought sugarcube was nice... But this is stupidly cruel. The thought of him acting like this somewhat often is very... unattractive.
I do not know where to look at prior bans, but I can remember three in the past, and they were referenced in his most recent ban report.
This is the single saddest occurrence I've seen on this site to date. I also find myself wondering how many times this kind of thing has gone unnoticed. This attempt was easy to spot due to the fact that, in this particular case, the kid made it extremely obvious by outright admitting to it in a public forum...which made it easy to weed out. My hat is off to the administration for having banned the perpetrator and stopped this garbage in it's tracks. I'd like to think that the majority of my fellow members who spend their time on here regularly working out the value of items do so responsibly and with regard for fairness...but, I won't lie, this has shaken my confidence in that hope of shared professionalism and honor.
I've complained in the past about the potential for this system to be abused by those with the "in-crowd/Regular" mentality with large backpacks and plenty of cohorts to back their pernicious agenda...but NEVER did I think someone would go to these kinds of lengths (much less be so arrogant/stupid enough to do it so blatantly) over something so microscopically trivial.
I have to downvote without even looking into the proof. No matter how solid it could potentially be I will not, nor will I ever, condone price manipulation for the sole purpose of bullying another person.
The only upside to this whole fiasco, in my (not so) humble opinion, is that anybody with the ego and tenacity to do something so childish has got to be RAGING over having been banned. I just hope the admin continue to be as vigilant at nipping this kind of behavior in the bud as they were today.
/Rant
Even if you try and forget the ambiguous reason this is all happening, I can't help but wonder why a purple belt, who used to have a lot of respect and dignity, would, instead of going to the mods, take to the streets of backpack.tf and create suggestions just to attack one person, but without realizing that people who own this hat and are trying to sell it/buy it are also being affected.
People with expensive backpacks will think they own the place sometimes, it's just ego, we can't stop them from doing it. As someone who comes on this site often enough, I can confirm that some people here, regulars if you may, sometimes edit the prices of items out of hate or manipulation. It's one of the few things broken about this site and how it operates.
In my honest opinion, if someone gets banned, whether it be a temporary ban should get their current open suggestions closed, or at least a mod close the ones that caused the ban, I.E; the three that were made out of spite, even if they are legit, they shouldn't be made because of such a downright "I own the place" attitude.
I agree and commend your beautifully written response. I try to do my best not to dwell on the possibility but today's fiasco has really got me wondering how long this site's price system will be considered relevant/reputable if this kind of thing continues to happen. I'm particularly baffled that the suggestions weren't closed and, although I can't confirm it, someone alluded toward a couple of the hats already having been devalued.
All systems have their flaws and there is no way to keep people from exploiting loopholes in any given system...but this doesn't mean it should be overlooked, accepted, or common place.
Utilization of extensive and effective vocabulary skils aside, Sugarcube has received three bans prior to this one, all as a result of pugnacious behavior directed at others. The mods obviously did not overlook this, as they promptly granted him an extremely well-deserved ban for his terrible deeds. The entire situation was a result of conflicting opinions, and they were trivial opinions, at that. It bothers me that he actually applied extensive effort, more than it would have taken to just respond to his comment, into bullying an individual.
I remember one guy tried to do this to me when I got a good deal on my old Purple Energy Dixie. He made a suggestion trying to lower the price, while -rep me for "scamming" and harassing me. I'm not gonna call anyone out or such but you could just go to the PE Dixie suggestions ;) Anyways I assume this happens a lot but it all seems to fix itself as it did with me.
Lol the spam
This suggestion still seems to be valid regardless
This is in no way spam; you just seem to be ignorant to the fact that Sugarcube committed a petty and cruel action toward an innocent user.
The problem with this is you have to consider the fact if this suggestion is actually meant for the hat, because if it is, it may still be a "valid" suggestion. Yes, what sugarcube did was wrong, no I'm not defending him, but despite his lack of maturity, perhaps we may focus on the suggestion at hand? Just a thought. (+ it's been 2 years since this was priced, maybe a bit outdated?)
You seem to have overlooked that fact that I have not even criticized its valid status, but he did obviously put his headline there as a sign that it is indeed one of the suggestions used to bully the poor guy. It sadly is a valid suggestion, and I DID recognize that prior to this comment, thanks.
Oh no, I wasn't criticizing you, just stating that perhaps we should check out the suggestion :P Not directed at you specifically~
It's still okay
Also I wasn't aware of that fact
Thanks for telling me :o
Also why all the dislikes? :c
I was just stating a fact
> I was just stating a fact
You obviously don't know what spam means, do you? Spam is non-constructive comments, I.E; lololol or gud suggestion. The people here are having conversations, this is not spam.
"Lolololol gud point regi" <--- Example of non-constructive comment
Ugh, this is disgusting. Surs is one of the nicest individuals I know.
If you have a score to settle, don't let money sway it. Handle it one on one, don't involve the community.
I'm disgusted.
