Sale: http://i.imgur.com/poSjlNI.png Sold for 8 buds pure
Whole story: 8 buds were traded for the c. Conscientious Objector. A minute later both parties agreed on the very same Objector to be traded together with a buds for a c. Conscientious Objector Chemistry Set: http://i.imgur.com/Nx87fFe.png , making the set worth 9 buds pure and logically the Objector 8 buds.
WHY THE COUNTER?
Chemistry Set =/= Finished Collector's Item
Technically we need to value these 2 items seperately. It is true, that the chemistry set can be completed and turned into a collector's item. BUT: The collector's item can never be turned back into a chemistry set. So unlike with metal (you can turn 3 rec into 1 ref and vice versa), the change with collector's items can only be done in one direction. Therefore a chemistry set is usually valued slightly higher.
A similiar approach can be seen with strange bacon grease and the strange pan. You can always turn strange bacon grease into a strange pan but it is impossible to do the reverse. As we see, strange bacon grease is therefore valued higher.
Logic =/= market
In that case we have proof, that someone ADDED a bud to a c. Conscientious Objector to "upgrade" it to a chemistry set of the same weapon. Therefor we cannot make them the same value unless someone finds sales where the chemistry set was sold AT THE SAME OR BELOW the price of the the Collector's Objector.
So in the very end the price of the chemistry set mustn't be used 1:1 for suggesting the price of the collector's item unless we have proof showing the equivalence of both of them. That's why I opened that counter.
Close this. This is not what actually happened. It was instantly resold back to owner for it for the collector set +1 bud.
Please elaborate on how your story is any different from mine.
The item was traded to someone then back to the same person wasn't it?
That is absolutely correct. And I exactly wrote that. But the circumstances under which it was traded back matter.
I made this counter since the original suggestion valued a sale of an Objector chemistry set as if the equivalent collector's Objector was sold at this price which is (as shown) incorrect.
Oh okay thank you for clearing this up, I didn't quite understand. :D
