Overpay should be applied as the Sammy owner agreed to sell it for a hat and not for pure. Just because someone completely removed from this trade got pure for their Demon Bomber does not mean the hat is suddenly equivalent to currency.

actually i've seen a hat being sold for pure and then in a suggestion not having overpay applied to it because of the fact it sold for pure, think this is fine

you'd think so, right? i'm still not sold on this new overpay rule.

I can see where its coming from with thing like strange festives or australiums, each weapon being at least 10 times as common as what some could call a common unusual and thus way more commonly traded, but it really makes no sense to me when it comes to hats which for the most part aren't traded near as much period.

If it took more than a week, I would apply overpay, even if it's a pure sale. If it takes that long to sell, you can't take the item as a pure equivalent. That bomber sold fast for 16 pure, though.

That's nice for that particular Bomber owner but that sale was for a completely different hat involving completely different people.

If the bomber sold fast for 16 pure, is it really fair to value it at 14.4 pure? If I see a hat sells fast for pure, I always value the hat at the pure sale value. Not less than that. And that's how I assume most unusual traders think.

Maybe I'm just an oddity then because when I agree to trade my hat for another hat I think of what other hats I could potentially get for it and not how many buds. I also don't think of how quickly someone in the past who's not me managed to sell at x buds because this is now, that's not me, and I'm trading for a hat and not those x buds. If I ever get buds/keys for a hat I'm selling its always a pleasant surprise, not the end goal and I don't assume someone else's fortune will also be my own.

I get tols im doing it wrong at overpay, then I full price and I still get told wrong.
