Seller at 25,6 :
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/25401557 - Very young, support proof
I know the last suggestion had only 3 links, but that's not enough.
Classifieds currently have one gifted scattergun, one at 26, rest is 28 or higher. You said yourself the 28 key unsold is young - therefore not relevant for the proof.
It's an expensive item, of course it will take a long time to sell. Using altogether 1 or 2 links of people selling it for a key lower should not be proof for a price drop.
Providing counterproof is very hard because even if solds at 27/28 do happen, unless you have been watching that trade before already, you won't even find it after it closes. These suggestions tend to get accepted using 1 link to support one end of the range, this allows for heavy manipulation. The suggestion that lowered the price from 30 to 28 used 1 seller at 28 as proof.
That's kind of like changing the price to 25 keys because I listed it at 25 keys and refused to sell it for 2 days.
Please check the market before you say anything. I always ALWAYS take every valid link on outpost there is! There are plenty in sets and pro killstreaks that only leave few valid sellers like this.
Sure, I understand most are killstreaked. My point was that it would be better if proof would be gathered during a longer period, even if the item sold already. It would allow for more proof, making the possibility that the 26 key link in this case is just a quicksell smaller, reducing the error of the price suggestion.
2 days unsold proves it isn't a quicksell mate.
Perhaps it didn't quicksell, but what matters is that it could be an attempt to quicksell. One person doesn't make it a common trading point. Well, not until such suggestions get accepted, then it does shortly, you can't deny the influence of bp.tf prices.
Example: construction PDA. All the classifieds were at 8 keys, every once in a while there was a quicksell at less, but otherwise very uniform at 8 keys. That was until yesterday a suggestion was accepted that used 4 links at lower prices as proof it's a common trading point. I sold 2 for 8 keys successfully in the past 10 days and I'm willing to bet I wasn't the only one, but nobody knows that, because those listings are closed. What people see is 4 people coincidentally listing it at lower prices at the same time and go for a suggestion. Look at the listings now - The whole first page is below 7.6 keys.
My point - this isn't just for the lols, it will influence the future listings of the item and thus a bit more care than using 1 link as proof should be used, even if it takes more time to gather them - which is to be expected with more expensive items.
It doesn't matter if he was trying to quicksell he didn't which shows it isn't a quicksell price. No normally one seller doesn't determine the market but in a situation where the market is tiny it does.
